I used to work for an old boomer who built log homes, he hired me to help him.
I thought I would be learning like secret ancient nordic arts of making log homes from scratch but we're American so of course the entire house arrived in pieces on a flatbed as a kit and you just put it together like legos.
You did still have to measure and cut the logs, and I would constantly fuck up and cut them crooked because all we had is a huge circular saw with no platform and the other guy would never help hold the log for me because he was afraid of the saw.
I'd always cut them crooked and the old boomer would just grimace and then go behind us and fill in the massive gaps with caulk. Always lol thinking about it.
