It doesn't have to be a hellscape though. I've gotten my garden started already. I'm growing 18 different fruits and vegetables this year, from lettuce and bush beans to strawberries, blueberries and five different types of peppers (because let's face it, you CAN live off of just unseasoned potatoes, but doing so for 6 months will make you wish that you just hadn't bothered). I've got 2 peach trees already bearing fruit on the sapplings this year, and at their current rate of growth I should be getting about a full bushel between them next year, with a bushel apiece in the years after. Add a meyer lemon tree and maybe another fruit variety just to round out the small orchard and we should be set. The world was getting on just fine without electricity and industrial farming, and it could absolutely do so again. In the best case scenario, you get to enjoy your own fresh produce, along with all the satisfaction that brings. And in the worst case scenario, assuming you already have a 5.56 or 7.62 rifle of some sort, you can enjoy the bounty of your feudal homestead while shit kicks off around you.
Just get out of the city. Secure some physical wealth. Start a garden patch that can get you through at least a couple months with fresh produce, and squirrel away some Mountain House or similar freeze dried meals to get you through the rest. Buy a gun (assuming you're american, there is NO excuse not to have one, at the very least you should secure an entry level 12 gauge, a Mossberg 88 will only run you between 200-250). Set yourself free, brother.

And in terms of stacking, if you have even ONE ounce of gold per adult in your family, then you are already in the top 20% of phyisical-wealth holders in the world. 14 ounces per adult puts you in the top 1%, and 52 puts you into the 1% OF the 1%. But if you can secure even one ounce of gold and a few vegetable beds, you will be more-or-less poised to weather whatever shit-storm happens better than 4/5ths of the rest of the entire planet. So like I said, it doesn't need to be a hellscape, and you can absolutely endure whatever may come.

I get that everyone's situation is different, sincerely I do. If your loans and your vehicle are paid off, AND you have guns and precious metals, then you're already doing better than most, and I congratulate you on that! I just know that, even if I were in a city apartment, I can get onto landwatch right now and find multiple listings for an acre of land for less than $5000, less than 45 minutes away from the city center. They're easier or harder to find in some areas, sure. But I'm just recommending buying a piece of property, even if it doesn't have a house on it, and planting a couple fruit trees around it.
Like precious metals, land is something that's ALWAYS going to be nice to at least have, and if you can commute out to your parcel once or twice a week, you can still work it just fine.

Maybe it's not practical for everyone. Just offering advice based on my own experiences, and trying to be encouraging instead of blackpilled. Just do your best, we're all gonna make it.

At the very least then I'd recommend getting a good disaster kit together, maybe a month's worth of freeze dried meals and bottled water to stash in the back of the pantry, and a five-gallon gas container with some Stabil in it so you can top up your car if shit get's squirrelly all of a sudden and you gotta get out of dodge but can't reasonably get to a gas station.
If you've already got guns and gold and are debt free though, then you've probably already got some supplies stashed away, and again, I commend you on living smartly and frugally.

And getting back onto the precious metals category, what's everyone's favorite thing to stack? From the picture, you can probably tell that I love me some Krugerrands. My mom spent a year in South Africa during high school as part of an exchange program, and before she left grandma gave her two fistfuls of cash and the instruction to bring home as much gold and as many diamonds as she could. I'm not privy to the contents of my parent's safe, but I know there's at least one full sleeve of 1oz gold krugerrands along with a scattering of 2rand coins, and a small baggie of assorted diamonds (one of which is actually currently sitting on my wife's finger).
I know I've only got one 1oz gold krug, 1 2rand, and 2 sleeves of silver krugs, but learning that story gave me such a vicious lust for acquiring African treasure that I'm about to buy a pith helmet and dedicate my life to stacking nothing else at this point.
