I keep saying it: Using anything other than Chainlink is financial negligence. This happens every single time. I don't have much sympathy left for users who choose to use this trash and then lose their money after the inevitable oracle exploit.

>> No.54769590

There’s always some catch though like it wasn’t totally the oracles fault but I do think Chainlink has done the best job building fault protections for when their own customers fuck something up. But even Chainlink has had “exploits” which were the result of customers using them incorrectly.

Idk what to make of this shit anymore. At some point a competitor offering a reasonable alternative has to come along, right?

In the meantime I just can’t understand why the fuck the price doesn’t reflect the value. It’s unreal. Chainlink is hands down the MOST USEFUL blockchain product ever built and it is #19 in market cap the fucking market is actually retarded.

chainlink "fuckups": the client coded some shit all retarded and it broke on their side. Customers lost 5 figures due to latency-caused mispricing. Chainlink implements BUILD to make sure clients can't fuck up in the future.
Pyth/ Tellor/ Mobius /whatever fuckups: Oops someone manipulated dex prices with a flash loan and drained 70% of user funds from a pool, teehee this is just part of the beautiful dance!

Fair and yea in some cases it has been totally the oracles fault buuut looking at that other flash loan attack that just happened >>54769460 it seems like they didn’t even implement the pull oracles and implemented some bandaid cheap product because they were too lazy to refactor. The only thing the Oracle is at fault for there is putting out some piece of shit bandaid product, doesn’t say much about their core offering though (which might also be shit, I’m just saying)

Nevertheless my point still stands. Chainlink is severely undervalued and I stopped giving a fuck about anything but price a year ago. Where are our come uppins? The team could under the table buy back and pump the price to $50+ easily over time and avoid all the harassment they’re getting. And if the tokens are so valuable, why wouldn’t they want to buy them back?

>> No.54769742

>>54769252
What if those security audits that have been going for the last 3 years resulted on advancing a lot into complex flash mev shit to hack oracles (competitors). Tbh going against Chainlink is plainly stupid because they know how to hack any oracle competitor to proof that they are shitty, and they can do this even with the competitors that will appear in the future. I dont mind the CCIP delay if they are this based ngl.

they build the tool and are happy to promote these protocols on their twitter.
they know it's a shit solution and that people implement them in a centralized way, but market them either way.

I get that you're not attacking chainlink, but like >>54769663 implies, it's not true to say that Chainlink has had any exploits, even with quotes. If I 'access-list permit ip any' as my router's top rule and someone gets into my network it's not a Cisco exploit, just my own dumb fuckup.

I've actually lost count the number of times a project conspicuously passes CL over in favor of another oracle only to get fucking mogged days later when the oracle gets exploited. Yep it's 100% collusion. The protocol and the pythheads probably split the profits from the hack. I hope they all end up in jail in 5 years.
