The slow experience is to buy calls or puts based on what direction you think a particular stock will move, and this is the most common way of going about it. For a new trader, I recommend not wasting your time and getting directly to the point. So what you want to do is figure out how much money you want to use to invest in options and put it in front of you in physical . Why you ask? Because you really need to see whats at risk, and you're going to need to transport this money. The next step is to take that money and put it in a bag. Then you need to drive to your nearest synagogue and ask to see the rabbi. Then take that bag of money and hand it directly to the rabbi, because that's where you money is going to end up regardless. I have come to the point that I believe that the market isn't trading individual stocks directly (in most cases) but the indices. And judging on the direction the index is supposed to go (down or up), the algos pick individual stock they sell and buy and through their weight and the amount sold/bought the index moves in the targeted direction. Otherwise I can't explain why some stocks on one day randomly pump and others randomly pump and that in alternation.
