I bought a lawn mower, weed whacker, and a leaf blower. How viable is lawn mowing in 2023 for making some money and do you have any suggestions get my first few customers.

Its got so expensive that a whole lot of people cut back drastically. I've noticed that even the richfags are letting their yards go a few weeks longer than usual. I lost a lot of business last year with people doing it themselves instead because I had to raise prices over gas.

for big plots you gotta compete against drive mowers. if your main customer is personal houses maybe try: door to door, targeted flyers, targeted radio ads, or even just craigslist

Use electric equipment to save money. Offer discount to repeat customers, i.e. cheaper to buy 3 months of weekly service. Go to nicer neighborhoods where you will get more business from lazy rich people and better tips

Try door to door. You will probably make more then wage slaving. Make a price chart and a business card, look professional. Also have a cool clicky pen. Good luck fren.

don't listen to these fags. stay in your shitty neighborhood. nobody wants to open their door to some poorfag solicitor.

I agree if the person has a perfect lawn but I more of meant drive to a neighborhood, look for a house in terrible shape, and knock on their door specifically, being polite. idk if it were me in the house I'd probably want that, they've probably been fined countless times and not realized they had this option/ too busy

start with the neighbors of people you already know
especially if they're old

I was going to start out with a flat fee of 50 dollars. I know alot of the larger houses in my area are being charged upwards of 100 dollars.

Ive done door to door solar sales before and it was horrible. I might it a shot to see if i can get some customers. Have you guys had success doing this door to door?

Have a uncle who puts fliers but said times are tough right now, but he does other stuff like irrigation and fencing

>> No.54752469

i got my first electric lawnmower today, works and feels great but as expected it doesn't run for long on a full charge, thats the only downside

>> No.54752549

Around me you'd make good money but the problem is housing is expensive so that's where all your money would go.
I'm in the landscape industry. I got started with flyers and postcards and Google but getting other related companies to refer customers to me and then word of mouth was the best.
Today if I were just starting I'd do door hangers and Nextdoor.

Bad advice, a yard in terrible shape means it could be a dangerous black person living there

Electric will die on some dense grass. God speed tho!

Well if you start working frequently and put that money on your Sora Wallet, buy some XOR, hold it until your Sora Card releases and save some money like that, you will probably make it more sooner than later, no ETA tho
