Semi-related, but I'm not even sure what an ideal target for early retirement even is anymore. I think when I first got into crypto in 2017 the target a lot of people mentioned was $2,000,000, but I don't think you can get away with that anymore with how much the prices for everything have risen. My current goal is $4MM because then I'll have an extra million to pay off the taxes and another million to buy a house/car/whatever else I need with, but even then I'm no longer sure if it will be enough. So from that standpoint, I can understand permabulls like that, but in their case I think they just had a gambler's high from things working out initially.
