FRC looks to me like they'll make it, but it's gonna be close. They won't reasonably be paying a dividend for two and a half to four years, and it won't be clear their direction for at least 2 years, depending on the SF housing market.
Even though they only lent to super high quality buyers, imo SF was way over-priced, for a very long time. Even good borrowers can default when they can't work or find a buyer. Really really close. The notes they're selling will help, and they should cover. I think they'd be wise to unload many of their SF notes in large parts as well, to balance towards their cash, imo. which will reduce book value since they'll have to take value cut to liquidate, but offer that needed cash infusion to cover higher interest rates and reduce any reliance on Receivables as a value prop. That's not a big deal, I don't think.
They opened offices in Connecticut, and apparently have offices in numerous places across the US, and getting in on assets that aren't in SF should be a good way to help secure their income. Trading Land for Bonds right now isn't a bad play for some income security. Until Aunt Yellin rings a bell and calls time?

They're in a situation, especially at this stock price, where they could liquidate assets to cash and convert to higher yield paper, and be clear in 8 months, imo. But so far they seem to be aiming for borrowing from the market, with a large number of deposit shares. They could keep all their accounts paid but they'd have to cut their holdings. I don't think government takeover is needed, and the share price already shows for a contraction well beyond what they'd need just to buy some T-notes.

I'm stuck between dropping back to 1% or raising. I can't decide which makes more sense, and some of it is simply out of our control to some degree.

But if you keep interest rates high in the US through Dedollarization, it's a fair assumption that in many markets local buyers won't be the ones paying taxes in a few years, which is probably the most regular way the US destroys notes. Your real control on your own national outcome is diluted, while much of the profits go across the seas to empower even more buying. Foreign interests necessarily hold foreign allegiances as well, so your real political power is made less safe.

So you want lots of your own money moving too, so the prices aren't too low and one country can't just buy up huge swathes and start doing patrols or some shit. But this means you're intentionally inflating prices, making it harder for the poorest in your lands, and putting homes out of reach for first buyers.

I think Mr. Powell was doing very well, but it's possible there's nothing accounting for shitty foreign policy from a diaper wearing pedo.

Because they are basing that off of how 5% rates "caused" the Housing bubble to pop in 2007 despite it being 1-2% interest rates that caused the bubble in the first place. They aren't looking at the underlying factors or how different the economy is now. They also have forgotten that banks profit more from higher rates in the long run and that people were still taking out loans with double digit interest. They are also tend to ignore that when Volker was rape hiking the markets we went through the greatest bull market since the 50s.

Dedollarization is a meme like the Euro. creating a new money doesn't end the dollar over night or even really hurt it that much. Keep in mind the selling point of the dollar is that the US is one country vs the EU and BRICS who are multiple countries with varying economies.

It's neat in theory but what happens to the BRICS when Russia or SA shit the bed or India and China have an issue? Who is in charge of this? How interconnected are these countries really? What happens when corrupt Russian, Brazilian or SA politicians try to do something retarded or collapse their respective economies.

If anything this sounds like a nightmare for China. Much like how Germany and France have to tard wrangle and payoff the debts of other EU members.

Kazuo Ueda was a brilliant economist, known for his groundbreaking theories on monetary policy and his innovative approaches to financial regulation.

One day, while studying the latest economic data from around the world, Ueda came to a startling conclusion: the global financial system was on the brink of collapse. He saw a perfect storm brewing, with soaring debt levels, speculative bubbles, and systemic risks that threatened to bring down the entire system.

With a sense of urgency, Ueda began to sound the alarm, warning his colleagues and policymakers of the impending crisis. But no one seemed to listen. They were too busy chasing profits, and too complacent in their belief that the system was too big to fail.

Undeterred, Ueda decided to take matters into his own hands. He began to strategically invest in various financial instruments, taking advantage of the very imbalances he had identified. He knew that by doing so, he was risking his own reputation and career, but he felt it was a necessary sacrifice in order to expose the fragility of the global economy.

As the months passed, Ueda's investments began to pay off. His portfolio was growing exponentially, and he was quickly becoming one of the wealthiest economists in the world. But at the same time, the cracks in the global financial system were becoming more and more apparent. Stock markets were crashing, banks were failing, and currencies were plummeting in value.

Soon, the entire global economy was in freefall, and Ueda's investments had become a key driver of the collapse. The world watched in horror as the financial system crumbled, wiping out trillions of dollars in wealth and sending shockwaves through every corner of the planet.

In the aftermath of the crisis, Ueda was widely criticized for his role in the collapse. He was stripped of his academic titles and expelled from the economics community, his name forever associated with one of the most catastrophic events in human history.

There was some interesting discussion around China being nervous about the Renminbi being externally held, because it could ruin their ability to shit on their own people. It's reasonable for a paranoid nation, with at least 4 languages, and a highly questionable creation mythology compared to reality, and no cultural history to speak of. The use of Gold by Russia sounds good, but then you have to consider it's Oligarch Russia, it's Russia, and then, the primary income is still resource sales, which can be all or nothing for lengthy periods, and can be undercut by discoveries at any time.
The question for the US is what can it provide that will either soak those notes, or keep the interest in holding them as USD. And I've said it before, that's Goods, and Services, or whores and land. And you don't want the last two as your exports, or you only end up with whores.
MMM, DOW, F, ADM, CMI, this kind of stuff, if you can make it in the US, makes a big big difference. You'd even want TSLA doing ZIM to Africa before you'd want Elon building GigaDjibouti.
And we have quality engineering teams that can work anywhere on earth, we just have to get them translation services.
And then there's Aerospace and Guns. Get some BA designs that can integrate drone deployment, or specialize as missile platforms, or some anti-drone LMT platforms... fuck if I know.

It's even worse than 50/50. Due to spreads, option market makers are never going to let you open a spread that has positive expected value no matter which side you take. Do the math on any spread and you'll see the EV is about zero but then actually open the spread. When you're done adjusting the legs slightly to actually get the trade and then recalculate you'll see the EV is always slightly negative. And if you don't have to make any adjustments that just means the Greeks moved slightly against you but just enough to put you in negative EV territory. The only way around this is to be very good at predicting future direction of the market and almost nobody can consistently do that. At best you lose money slowly. Anybody who denies this forgets the crucial upshot: you're trading against professional market makers. Not retail, not tutes, but market makers with automated systems that constantly "do the math" and will let nothing with positive EV slide through

Quality REITs recovered from the 2006-2008 crashing. But CRE loans are not adjusted to higher interest rates yet and their managers are being dividend baiting assholes. The plan is to wait in cash and ignore the inflation FUD by mumus deployed by fegelein. Fegelein is a permabull bastard stay strong bobos we will deploy cash and not get rugged by his tactics.

To me I see spreads the way the IRS does, as individual positions. I'm long an ATM call and short an OTM call and the market then goes up, I don't look at it as 1 position, because it's not. I'd just be mad I'm getting heemed on the short call even if I'm still technically profitable due to the width of the spread. Because I'm a direction picker. I'd rather just long a cheaper contract or less contracts to limit dollar exposure. Then cut out quick if I'm wrong.
>Then cut out quick if I'm wrong.
This is the main point here. You have to have the discipline to do it, which I have not always in the past. But it's just so absolutely necessary. More important than taking the gain for me.

One thing you can say for the bond market, at least they are consistent in their delusion. After the bank fiasco the bond market immediately priced in 4 rate cuts by the end of the year. This is preposterously delusional and I would expect better but at least it's consistent and somewhat rational. The fed is consistent in its messaging of no rate cuts. They are bumbling fools but, like the bond market they have been consistent in the messaging of late
However the utter shared hallucination that is the current equity market is a site to behold. Look at pic related. Just an eternal fight to the death between Mumus and Bobos. We’ve gotta pop by the market, Dump SPY. It's gonna be a nice one too.
>The what? Dump SPY? What do we need to dump SPY for?
Why in the hell do you think we just pumped all that money on SPY? The whole point of pumping SPY in the first place is to get the holders nice and tipsy topside, so we can take em to a nice comfortable place below deck, and you know… they can’t sell. Because of the implication.
>Oh, uh… okay. You had me going there for the first part. The second half kind of threw me.
Dude, dude, think about it. The investor is in the middle of a Bear Market with some ETF they barely understand. The investor looks around and what do they see? Nothing but red seas. “Ahhh, there’s nowhere for me to run. What am I going to do? Sell?”
>Okay… that seems really dark.
Nah, it’s not dark. You’re misunderstanding me bro.
>I think I am.
Yeah, you are. Because if the investor wanted to sell, then the answer is obviously sell.
>No. Right.
But the thing is they're not going to sell. They would never sell. Because of the implication.
>Now… you’ve said that word, “implication” a couple of times. What implication?
The implication that things might go wrong for them if they decide to sell SPY. Not that things are going to go wrong for them, but they're thinking that they will.
>But it sounds like they don’t want to sell SPY?
Why aren’t you understanding this?
