No its just introspection. It makes me think about how many miserable people with potential I've slighted without a second thought and how callous I've been, then I turn around and act like the world has been cruel to me.

No one is there to catch you if you fall these days except for family if you're lucky. People are hideously indifferent to your affairs, even people who supposedly should be very close to you. And I'm one of them too. The world is so dull and drained of beautiful possibilities that it pains me to no end.

With all the suffering that goes on in the world, we'd all be exhausted to the ends of our wits if we brought ourselves to care about every little bad thing that happens to everybody. Humans aren't evolved to empathize with complete strangers to such an extreme degree like that. Such a thing would simply be too overwhelming. I'm not saying you should be a callous sociopath with no empathy, of course. Just that your energy is kind of wasted crying over people who don't even know you exist. That doesn't solve their problems nor yours. Obviously you should still try your best to care and be there for people who you're close with.

That might be true, but the realization does not make the thing worse. It's an accurate understanding, and if you understand that something is bad, then it's natural to feel sad about it - but it's better to be aware.
It is also exhausting. You said that you're exhausted, and it's natural to just cry when one is. It's little wonder that you are, given the state of the world and of ourselves. The shit just feels overwhelming.
