It’s interesting that the small denomination of currency in colonial America was called a bit or 1/8th of a real. And “bitcoin” is divisible to the 8th decimal place.

Nope they all use the $ not worthless silver shitcoins

>Dollar's growing dominance in Venezuela leaves locals 'short-changed'

With her arms full of $11.87 worth of bananas, red peppers and onions, an elderly woman at a produce stand in western Caracas approaches vendor Walquiria Garcia and offers to pay with a $10 or $20 bill.

Workers weigh goods in an open-air fruit and vegetable market in Caracas, Venezuela December 22, 2020. REUTERS/Manaure Quintero
A flustered Garcia disappears into a closet, re-emerges, takes the $10 note and scribbles, “owes $1.87” on the back of an old crumpled receipt that the customer is to bring on her next shopping trip.

Since a sudden liberalization of Venezuela’s economy at the end of 2018, routine purchases increasingly have been made in U.S. dollars rather than the South American country’s virtually worthless bolivar currency.

But a chronic shortage of denominations of less than $20 has forced businesses to come up with improvised workarounds ranging from makeshift vouchers and customer IOUs to offers of additional products in place of change.

Within several hours of opening for business, Garcia’s produce stand had run out of small bills. When the next customer arrived with a $20 bill, the vendor laughed nervously.

“With each client it is different and you have to decide in the moment with the customer how to resolve the situation,” Garcia said. “I try to save the small bills for change, but there are just not enough $1 or $5 dollar bills.”

President Nicolas Maduro, who for years forbade the use of dollars in local transactions, relaxed currency controls after a decline in oil revenues and an intensification of U.S. sanctions on Venezuela.

The socialist president now embraces the use of dollars, calling it an “escape valve, a form of resistance,” that can help the country weather a deep-rooted economic crisis.

What more do you want said?
Yes, some Venezuelans are using gold flakes.
In general, Reuters, AP/UPI have the armies of reporters. Most local outlets pick up the feeds and choose whether to carry the stories or not. With the Internet, news sources now employ crowd sourcing a lot more, but it's still basically R/A/U. So yes, if you want other sources, you'll have to go to RT, Al Jazeera, etc. But I would assume (possibly incorrectly) that Google searches there too. This particular article mentions going pretty far into the wilderness to find locals that use the flakes. There probably aren't many agencies that have staff to be so ubiquitous as to exist there. It's kind of amazing that we got this story at all, as the locals probably didn't think of this as news-worthy - it's normal for them. It took an outsider to see it as an anomaly. So if others also use gold flakes and think of it ans normal, whose going to think of reporting it?

>the anime to transgender pipeline
[citation needed]
Has it been ruled out that Anime is a merely a possible symptom, and that it is instead a catalyst?

To be clear: I am not tranny, and my familiarity with Anime is limited to what I've seen on /pmg/ and /b/, and that is already TMI for me.

But I wonder what the rage against it is. It's juvenile, and maybe some deviants actually get hard over it, but I could attribute that to the rampant hormones of youth.
I suspect those who rage against it feel a lure and the beginnings of arousal, and their hatred for it stems from not being able to admit that there are stirrings of attraction of whatever sort. So the 'cognitive dissonance' (haven't heard THAT term in a while) creates conflict and anger.

tl;dr: "Methinks thou dost protest too much."

Originally intended for kids on Saturday mornings, no? Anyway, if none of this has anything to do with you, then I guess you can save yourself the effort of replying. Even a lot of western cartoons tend to have jokes and more or less subtle references that only an adult or at least older child (teen+) would understand. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something that you are not the primary target audience of. Adults also like sweets and there's nothing wrong with this. BTW, superman is boring trash, I couldn't watch this shit even as a child. For me it was Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Darkwing Duck, Animaniacs, etc. I can still watch this stuff 20 years later and laugh because it's funny. Often it's even way funnier now than back then because I actually understand what's going on which I didn't when I was 5 years old. The same goes for movies. Back to the Future is still a great watch even though it's for children.

>in a, “power of suggestion” type way too?
It depends on age, not on type of media, the type of japanimation blamed isn't really consumed by those most affected as it's aimed at 40 year olds, and rather boring for children.
The main vulnerability is early childhood early puberty, if you l look for fetishes that can be clearly traced to a single source, the time it takes for them to pop up in drawn pornography is roughly the time it takes for 12 year olds to become old enough to create it. e.g. the classic example of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with blueberry expansion or black slime corruption currently picking up steam due to the Venom movie a few years ago.

With the current general trend in question we're likely dealing with the lack of male role-models in media aimed at children and the infallibility of female characters in contrast imprinting male bad female good contrast, all wanting to be part of the good side, some identifying with it as a consequence.
Japanese material, if aimed at male children (shonen), is actually the exception to this rule, with a typical strong male lead that isn't accompanied by a superior female by default.

>>54614627
On birth-rates, Japanese men get divorce-raped on they day they marriage, the default is the women having control over all family finances, the man only getting pocket-money from the wife.

I think when the fed is going to implement their "Fed-now" instant payment system is when things are going to start. Now that the "war" in Ukraine is leaked to be yet another US proxy war for forced land distribution they're probably going to get more aggressive in a "well what are you going to do about it" way. US Election season 2024 is going to be where things get VERY interesting. Hold on to your butts.

The car shit I mentioned is obviously the first step. They've already implemented so many new rules that come into effect very soon. Cars are incredibly liberating, it's only a trivial manner to drive to DC or a governor's house. Electric cars can be shut down remotely so they'd love to have real-life internet firewalls.
Then "assault" rifles are going to be restricted heavily, they'll probably ban the sale of 30-round mags and ammo calibers like 5.56, .223, 7.62, .308 first since it's "technically" not banning the guns themselves. Washington is about to have California-tier gun restriction and I think one state recently went even worse.
Next will be internet privacy and VPNs, since people will use the internet to voice dissent and share ways to get around the bans. Blame it on "AI".
After that I think they'll ATTEMPT a precious metals ban, say terrorists are using old coins to illegally buy guns and try another FDR-style seizure. For all we know it could actually be more successful than the first one, most people don't have the mindset of "Silver=Money" right now because they've been brainwashed for years that paper is money. But who knows, most stackers have anti-government sentiment so it might not do well at all.

Oof. Tough question right now. Prices are somewhat high. I've seen them about $10/ozt higher as well as lower over the past dozen years.
If I was just starting out and in a hurry, I'd probably do a single tube every week or so until that 500 was reached. That would average your costs over half a year of purchasing. I'd also mix in some gold, and then I'd probably switch to every two weeks.
I'm not yet confident the prices will remain high.

When I go to my LCS I'm not going to be buying big ass bars that is stupid and if I did it's because I might in the future have it melted down to make a custom silver or gold item a personalized coin or jewelry for my wife and kids.

Gonna start my coin collection today, neat history if it's the US, that one giant copper japanese thing is funny, looks old though. Maybe I will find it's history when I'm drunk on a Saturday.

not much, most transactions in gold are by the gram or Oz, so a tiny pile of gold dust wont get you very far. They also seem to be using either amalgam gold or nuggets for commerce, I havent seen many photos of people using gold dust in South America. It makes more sense to use amalgam gold in general, its easier to work with than trying to measure out amounts in dust thats easy to loose.
