CPI came out. Only a 25bps hike next up, if at all, then smooth sailing the rest of the year at the current rate. Once the rate gets cut either later this year or next year, the silver spot price will be forced upward, regardless of how much the market manipulators seethe about it. Silver spot could be looking at anywhere from high 20s to mid 30s this time next year.

They backed themselves into a corner, no matter the optics on inflation, we can only go up :
>high inflation : currency is losing value, ppl seek for refuge in PMs
>inflation "going down" (ie up but slightly slower) : Fed will be forced to pivot, bullish for PMs
>inflation "stay the same" (ie up) : bonds' yield still are lagging below inflation, thus with negative real returns, bullish for PMs

Of course the "smart move" for them is to pretend they finally reached the statu quo, exactly what (((they))) just announced : an inflation (5%) magically PERFECTLY matching coupons' yield (5%). This way they have their excuse to not raise the rates any further up (destroying the debt based economy), and not trigger a flee from the stock markets toward newly issued bonds if they become too advantageous compared to stocks (and anally devasting old bondholders in the process, which are big banks for the most part).
This is all a big joke though, since nobody who live in the real world will ever believe inflation is at 5% when everything is 15% more expensive.

But this market's game of fools only consist on acting as you believe how others would react, so we get the most retarded common denominator as the rule. It's a new version of "the emperor is naked", but where everybody is naked.

The funny thing is this pseudo-temped down inflation was all built on the back of less consumption who allowed oil to cool down a bit. But last week BRICS + OPEC + Algeria + Iran + etc.. basically all big producers, announced in unisson that they will cut oil production by 15% or so until 2024, in an effort to make sure the USD continue to lose relevance in international trades. The goal for others nation is to force the US to get smothered by their own debt, for that they need the Fed to continue to raise rates by keeping inflation high. And most inflation derives from oil price. So we better get used to it, because this arm wrestling might continue for a while.

You are betting on the fact the US Mint will continue to sabotage itself and not ramp up production as they should have (and they are legally bound to meet US public's demand, normally).
Why not, betting on traitors and cretins put in positions of power by (((them))) have been a winning move so far.. But don't overplay your hand, talmudic clownworld can only last so long. The minute backlash become too immense and the kikes are forced to put a semi-competent man at the head of the US Mint, they will go in overdrive to produce ASE and AGE, and you'll have to kiss your super-premium goodbye.

I'd advise to not get too cocky and follow closely what their production is, because the smart move will be to dump your coins before ppl start to notice when the mint start to ramp up.

This is an absolutely ridiculous expectation. These threads are so popular nowadays that it's not uncommon to go through 2 or 3 in one day. How is one person going to have enough OC for that many OP pictures? You're being unreasonable. The whole point of /pmg/ is that people share content.

> And if OP actually was in these generals long time, he’d know that we ask before baking and that we don’t immediately bake at the bump limit.
You're the same first world problem whiner that has complained about this for the past few months. You can keep whining but none of the bakers care. The majority of /pmg/ has decided that making a new thread around the bump limit is perfectly acceptable.

>>I manage 10 generals!

Everyone knows it's coming, but there is simply too much USD and us assets and property held by foriegners for it to be a spectacular crash out of nowhere. Inflation will keep ramping up, probably for another year or 2 until we're close to any Weimar level adding zeros to accounts type of shit. They'll make it a slow boil pain on the consumer while casually mentioning possible solutions in our media so we'll all eventually go along with cbdc or whatever they've got cooked up. Not true. People will trade what is familiar and trusted. In the US, that coin is the eagle. Like it or not, there will be a premium on eagles. A farmer selling his last sack of flour has two buyers. Again, a total collapse scenario is unlikely. I’m not basing my stacking on a low probability event. Either way though, I’m covered with eagles. You people haven’t learned the lessons of the last 3 years. Eagles were the first coin to sell out in 2020. Their premiums went from 5% to 10% to 20% to 30% to 50% to 60% and here we are at 60-80% premiums. In the next run up for silver, eagles will again sell out everywhere and their premiums will be 100%+. I’ll take advantage of that. You can buy asahi rounds. I don’t care. If you think the US government is going to ever adequately supply the market with eagles, whether they are actually able to or not, you are dreaming.

Ain't just JP Morgan. There's a whole concerted effort involved to keep that shit from going anywhere. Price supression is here to stay until something very big and important breaks completely. These 50 cent+ price swings are real interesting though, and probably are indicative of instability in other areas.

Eagles are bullion. Aside from proofs and other some other social strikes, eagles don’t have numismatic value. People will argue that any price over spot is numismatic value, but any coin website i go to differentiates BU eagles from numismatics. I can’t find a single site that says BU eagles are numismatics or semi-numismatic which seems like a Pmg made up term. The eagle premium is simply supply and demand. It has nothing to do with collector value.

Yeah, ive noticed the spot graph acting weird the last 2-3 months, ive been watching the spot price 10+ years and can see their suppression is becoming unstable.

that's a good buy. ASEs are now a terrible buy. No one has a problem with ASEs at a few dollars over spot. People just shoouldn't pay 2x spot for a one ounce ASE, and expecting ASEs to continue on that trajectory ($200 ASEs at $100 spot) is retarded and based on nothing but hope. It must first be at the bump limit, we'll define this variable as bl, then we need to define a variable for page location, we'll call this p, then also a third variable OP post count, together we get the formula:

new_bake = true, if bl > 310 & p < 5 & pbtid > 10

And if you bake a new thread while that condition is false, then karen will lecture you for half the next thread explaining what a reddit faggot you are completely disrupting /pmg/ while claiming they are trying to save /pmg/

If you're working with a low budget sure, I just find it hard to justify to myself spending an extra 500 for no extra weight (of god, i.e. buying fractionals).
That being said, only reason I prefer gold coins is that they're less likely to be counterfeits then the larger gold bars that would also have lower premiums...
That being said, what are the machines that shops use to determine counterfeits, how much are those anyway?

But I find the shotgun guys a great bunch to hang out with too. The target shooters I hang with are way too serious about everything. Sporting clays is great, but pheasant shooting is great fun too. They're the daftest birds on the planet and they taste amazing. Like a better tasting chicken. But since we can't really have pistols here (we can but complicated) rifles are just too expensive. I really want the 50 cal but it's 10 grand and that would get me a big fat stack of PMs. I just don't know what to do. silver has two prices. Spot (driven by many factors) and premium (driven by consumer demand on a specific type of silver). Premium is driven by consumer bullion demand, spot is driven by overall market/industry/jewelery/bullion demand etc. (a larger market). Consumer demand is at very high levels right now, which is forcing high premiums. Spot may continue to increase, but that isn't entirely determined by the consumer bullion market. Premium for the most part IS determined by the consumer bullion market, which is racing right now. My argument is that ASEs are not currently a good buy because one of the two prices is at a high point. Expecting premiums to continue to track at double spot as spot rises doesn't make sense. Gold premiums are also up very high relative to what they normally sit at because of comparably increased demand, but AGEs are sitting at like 5% premium. No one is going to pay 100% premium on a $2000 coin. As spot rises, premiums will not continue tracking linearly like that because consumer demand will fall proportional to spot increases. People aren't going to be scooping up tubes of 20 rounds when each round is $100.

I own silver. One thing I can't shake though. If Silver headed to 500 dollars an ounce, and the global economy is dependent on manufacturing, and manufacturing suffers due to the silver shortage, and we all depend on the global economy for food, then wouldn't we be screwed if it increases significantly?

I would be way more in silver, if I knew that we can just start mining more when industry starts to realize the shortage, OR if I could get to understand to what degree the sectors of the economy I care about really depend on silver. It seems like the best case is that companies can just up their mining operations with new investments in a shortage, so there's a period of huge price inflation of silver, followed by a dump of the silver price.

Thoughts?

I get most of my PM's locally. I shop around at a few shops but you can find pretty good deals on stuff not to much over spot especially if you got a good relationship with the owners. If you are worried about counterfeits you gotta acid test or sigma it but that is damaging/real expensive to get. Local shops if you can find a good one have names to uphold and if they get blasted for burning someone they will go down pretty pretty fast. I think I paid $5-10 over spot for some gold dos pesos. Just do some more homework on your local area and find a cool spot or be trapped by online fees and possible tracking of what you get.

Well yeah. The whole global economy is balanced on a low silver price. If silver gets out of control, everything goes south in a hurry. The best case scenario is basically a revaluing: the dollar goes away entirely, replaced by a basket of CBDCs which PMs (and oil, for some truly ungodly reason) will be pegged to. Severe instability in the silver price like we're seeing now is indicative of rough times ahead.

you didn't address the point, you immediately jumped to the gold analogy. The point is demand cools when prices increase. Premiums are a function of demand. People aren't going to be buying silver eagles for $2000 a tube at the same rate they're buying them at $600-700 a tube.

I think the most likely scenario for that to happen isn't that silver becomes more valuable, but the dollar becomes nearly worthless. Everyone loses.

Yes, there is a lot of silver in places that it would be expensive to get to. If silver became very expensive, then it would be economically feasible to retrieve it. I think that makes "to the moon" an unlikely scenario.

Have you thought of the possibility really only numismatic coins will hold extreme value over spot because silver in the generic bullion would be worth more for the industrial usage of it over whatever is stamped onto it? This. Buying metals freezes that buying power out. If you put $10k in metals today, it doesn't just magically turn into 1 million acres of land and 72 virgins of buying power. Silver may correct upwards a bit, so $10k in silver today ultimately (after correction) gives you some high number of 2023 USD in buying power later on, but it's just a preservation of buying power, not a lottery ticket.

I don't hold a lot of generic. I have a couple dozen ounces in various 10 oz bars, but most of my silver is in government coins (Phils, brits, maples, and eagles mostly). That being said, why would there be a major split in value between government minted silver and private mint minted silver? I think government coins are a little better security feature wise (particularly the maples and brits), but an asahi round isn't going to be "more valued" in industry just because it doesn't have some globohomo country on it

I’ve been right so far. Even as you and others said 30% premiums were ridiculous…buy buffalos instead. Now they are 60-80% and there is NO sign of it slowing down as long as silver spot keeps going up. Since everyone here thinks silver spot will go up, I will be proven right. I think you massively underestimate the demand on the eagle. Average people, but especially rich people, in desperation, will scramble to buy eagles. They aren’t buying asahi bars or buffalo rounds. When the big money pours in, eagles will be SOLD OUT…..like last time. Here is the best part…..if I feel like eagle premiums are topping, I can sell and buy cheap generic or gold! I’ll have a much larger stack. But irrationally hating on eagles and having missed out on the gains must really irk you.

I'm saying there wouldn't be that massive of a split, going off mining numbers and how much we use by industry the silver value itself will over take whatever resell premium he is banking on. Only really numismatic and perfect examples will hold that higher premium but generic ass eagles/whatever private/govt wont matter as much.
Sorry if I worded that 1st one poorly. I'm banking on silver more in general than a specific coin/round

>I think government coins are a little better security feature wise
