When you are 20 you can pull girls by showing up to parties and being just decent looking, while trying to chat up girls. It will work out. By 30 it's way more about financial security, having a career, nice home etc. It's hard to find someone to level with who likes the same things.

If I owned a car and made more than 30k if wouldn't be that difficult, but I haven't dated since beer in an ally was a valid dating strategy. These days it's about going to dinner and I've never really done that.
