As a kid I was kind of dumbfounded that if you're near-sighted and put your eyes very close to the mirror without your glasses on, the things in the background are still blurry. Like your eyes are only inches from the mirror, everything should be sharp, but things in the back several feet behind you are still just as blurry in the mirror as if you turned around and looked directly at them.
