It's just a slow creep towards a fedcoin that is 100% digital. Normies still think of dollars as a physical thing that has value even if they haven't touched a dollar in monnths. Even with the money printer being common knowledge now they still imagine a literal money printer. Once you make the change to something that is 100% digital and dispel that notion, and once everyone accepts it, you can introduce things like expiration or decay.

If you told normies today that their dollars have an expiration date and they have to spend them before that date there would be massive pushback. If you tell them the same thing about a fully digital currency there less likely to see it as absurd, especially if they're accepting the new digital currency under the premise and promise of UBI in which case they'll be thanking the benevolant fed for solving all of their money problems that were caused by the fed, even if it's a trap to make sure they are literally never able to save a dime.

>> No.54501857

The issue I have with digital currencies is 1) phasing out of cash (which gives privacy and a way to avoid taxes), and 2) the increase in power it would give to the issuer of the currency (negative interest on deposits, expiry date if currency units are unspent, social credit, being able to restrict purchases, etc.)

Lower REAL interest rates, for a few years. Once this prospect is widely accepted, gold needs to re-price to $3k. It probably overshoots to $3.5k then dips to $2.5k, who can say though. Since early 2022 gold has been battling higher returns on cash balances.

Not sure. Maybe one third each cash, short term bonds, stock ETFs. My intention was to pivot from this speculative GDX position, into a house deposit. But house prices likely won't be attractive until 2024.

I just get nervous at these levels. I have a spreadsheet going back to the early 2000s which divides GDX by GLD, and the ratio long term, always drifts away from the miners towards the metal. This spreadsheet is what got me into the miners, because the ratio had cratered by September 2022.

You'd be surprised. The neocons have been wet dreaming of a war with Russia for decades. NATO now shares a bigger border with Russia than ever before, and the pendulum is swinging away from globalization and back into a Cold War-type split. The people here in Finland are overjoyed about the NATO membership because it makes them feel safer, but I'd say it rather increases the possibility of war happening on our soil.

I think there's often a difference between what politicians and propagandists say and what they actually know to be true / really think. It has become a common talking point that if Russia wins the war in Ukraine then they will just keep going and invade the next country. I don't think anyone in the know really believes that. But it's of course extremely good propaganda for the plebs as it is a very scary scenario, and so it gives the elite support to give Ukraine more weapons and money so they can punish Russia more (economically and deaths). Because they see Russia as their enemy, for probably several different reasons. But for Europeans of course this war should have never happened. There is no reason why we couldn't be friendly with Russia. We could both benefit greatly from friendship and trade.
But Russia is a national conservative white country, some people really do not like that.

No doubt about it. But for the moment I'm most interested about how TPR will play out.
Canadian government has basically committed to the hydrogen play and turning the region into a wind farm. The sale of the dome for hydrogen storage is a given at this point.
There's a very realistic chance that this company is going to have cash reserves eclipsing their entire market cap if it falls into the 60 cent range and stays there while TPR is sold.
They have absolutely nothing else to spend that money on other than getting this into production. If they don't do that, then they'll be sitting on +50 mil cash doing fuckall, even possibly a lot more depending on the tpr sale price.
However the only thing that makes me think that they're not taking this into production is Rowland's age. I doubt he wants to wait up to 5 years to get his money out of this.

I don't see Russia attacking Finland, but US might attack Russia or start shit with China.
The most worrying thing about joining NATO is that the dollar may very well be on it's way out and US will not go down without swinging.
They're more likely to start a war than not when it comes to propping up their failing empire.
Naturally it would be multitude of proxy wars, so having the front row seats to this show is kinda dangerous.
Worst part of this all is total elimination of Russia as a trade partner and tourist source for Finland. Not a good thing to eliminate big trade partners during a recession, especially considering Finland's shit tier economic performance.

I agree with everything you say in this post. What I'm trying to tell you is that the times of mutual benefit and peaceful trade are gone with regard to Russia. It's history. That bridge has been burned. The new normal is a split between two worlds. Trade is dead, diplomacy is dead, following the rules is not in vogue (see: "freezing" assets). I wish it wasn't like this but as I said already, we're a puppet state. Our politicians work for the EU and the USA. Our own populace is left to bear the burden of the consequences.
>>54504308
I don't know or care who strikes first, NATO or Russia. All I know is that once the inevitable happens, we will be a prime candidate for a front line.

Almost everyone I know has already left.
Only ones who remain are people who got stuck in dead end jobs and have kids which prevent them from going.

If you start crunching the numbers about our economy, you'll quickly realize how utterly fucked we have gotten in the last 30 years. The direction isn't good.
Our purchasing power compared to even the 90s is practically lost and you just wait until the economy takes a shit and they have to go nuts with the taxes to cover the ever growing welfare state expenses.
It's going to get really bad in the next decade or two for Finland if we don't pull a new industry out of our asses or start propping up foreign investment with lower taxes.
Which of course won't happen, because that's a pipe dream. There's no new Nokia around the corner and Finns will never support lower taxes for anyone.
Our system is basically unsustainable and will collapse, making wealth accumulation even more difficult.

The run up from March to August 2020during the Wu Tang flu was the best chance to make gains recently in our sectors. Idk if we will ever get another opportunity as pronounced as that leg again. I've been sidelined on cash trying to DCA since November but frankly I just don't see any advantages over just continuing to buy physical PMs and sitting tight. I don't have any worries with physical and I almost never even open the safe to look at them. Ecuador is home to abundant mineral resources, but development of its mining sector remains well behind that of countries like Chile and Peru because of court rulings and resistance from indigenous communities.

The government of conservative President Guillermo Lasso has pledged to increase mining development to aid the struggling economy. Mining exports grew 32.6% last year to $2.77 billion.

The area around the Llurimagua project is home to a rare species of frog previously thought extinct, said Andrea Teran, a biologist specializing in amphibians.

Twenty-two of the 34 species of amphibians which live in the area are considered threatened, she added.

there were incredible high value zones on Dome mined by small scale leaser operations from the 1900s to the 1930/40s, even up to the 1950s, I dont have my notes for there out right now but they were free milling gold as well as sulfides with silver / gold well over Ozpt material, the stuff I used to go play with up there was similar. There is no reason to believe it was all mined out, but Blue Lagoon's focus right now is on the areas right around the Boulder Vein, where the modern existing mine is. It also could be that the super high value material is just to narrow to be bothered with for a modern scale mine, we have seen them intercept very high grade material, but only on narrow intercepts.

>> No.54515276

to put it another way, they actually could probably make a go at mining a lot of those narrow but high grade zones they have IDed, but they would need to go very small scale, and very labor intensive work to do it. Vein runner style scoop trams and haul trucks, or all rail could work, with conventional ore carts and muck machines. The issue there is I dont know if there are enough miners in BC trained to do that sort of work younger than 60.

its hard to say which route the gov there would go but worse case would be immediate take over of all active mines by government with only pennys to the dollar compensation to the previous owners. In reality we would probably see a few years of negotiating with current operators on a deal to continue operations without interruption while government takes control over ownership. With nationalization, the investors rarely get anything back, it usually kills which ever company it happens too.

Let's see what else.

I saw on a soc thread another user said that Gary said you should be in gdx right now, making silver jan 2024 leaps, accumulating physical silver while we ride through the breakout phase. Then once the breakout begins we will buy miners and leverage like gdxu.

I am holding a large gdx posistion currently. I am accumulating physical silver. I am ONLY holding solid silver miners, abrasilver, gogold, kooteney (though I hate management),

I am looking HEAVILY at dolly faggot silver, guanajato silver. And currently will be taking a posistion jn avino gold and silver mines as soon as possible.

I just purchased 60 more oz of silver.

I also started selling smoked chicken to bartenders and am selling about 40 pounds a week and making about 800 dollars a month. I live in a trailer and have tattoos on my head. I am going to community college for finance classes. I am clearly someone you should listen to and use my opinion to make.important financial decisions. Red nigger out.

Those in the lundin list I would consider solid miners to invest in (I'm not telling you to invest in them) or at least a good place to start. I received the email from Rick rule and that is yet another "quality filter" if you will, that can be applied.

I'm saying that if one desires, they can combine these two lists together with the miners that match up (as in have listings on both sources rick rule and lundin) and if both of those sources give the company a favorable rating then you can be pretty damn well assured that's its a good inevstment.

Lundin says that avino gold and silver and i80 mines are good investments, rick rule gave i80 gold a five which is good for him and said they had "no focus investment" which they are currently building through exploration. And avino gold and silver a 6 and said they had a "good folowing".

Based on MY criteria, these were the best miners on the entire project. I filtered for PRODUCERS at small market caps. Both of these have exploration plays and favorable analyst reviews.

The work is done. It's all good. That was the point. To compile these lists and find the best miners which in my opinion was i80 gold and avino gold and silver. Other people might have their own opinions and they are free to come up with them based on what they're looking for.

Another note. Jeff clark recently made a video on YouTube where he gives his top miner picks. He also gives them for free on his website. Jeff is pretty good at picking stocks and has a good track record.

That's the objective here and the ultimate one at that, what are the best miners, the most undervalued, with the biggest tpotential to explode in the bull run.

That's my sole mission in coming to these threads. It's what we all want and we are one step closer imo

It's likely a waste of time. Every other silver miner investor is looking at the same data as you. Look at the holdings: https://www.globalxetfs.com/funds/sil/

The ETF holds 34 stocks. So you could either buy the ETF, or even better, just buy each stock equal-weighted. That way you might earn some premium on the "size effect". Betting the farm on 5 silver miners you delude yourself are surefire winners is a recipe for disappointment.

I take all analysts opinions into account but never buy wholesale I to anything they say. Gary is the only one I will listen to with blind loyalty.

Rick rule is biased towards larger companies. A 30% return is exceptional to him whereas to us that would be insufficient.

Gold ventures looks for retarded leverage plays and probably takes on a lot more risk than he should. He has a good track record of picking winners but he clearly doesn't do his DD l, for example he found out much later than we did that Klondike silver lost their license and I believe it was only because i told him that he figured it out. Another example, he hasn't brought up anything about Santa cruz silver STILL not published their Financials from last year nor the debacle of their cfa suing th company. Hes probably going to get caught off guard.

Don durett is completely retarded and takes a shot gun approach buying every single miner under the sun. Id never buy anything based off his recomemdation

Sure I agree with you, in a bull market 30% return on investment is low. In a bear market, though, that is fantastic.

But if you'll take a look at some of the majors that RR has invested in, you'll notice many of them have made much better gains than a mere 30%. Look at the three or five year chart in companies like Ivanhoe or Cameco or Franco Nevada or Exxon. You'll notice these companies have done quite well during this bull market. Many of the juniors, in contrast, have reverted back to their lows. RR invests on a pretty long time scale, according to himself he looks to invest for at least a five year timeframe. The difference in investment timeframe alone is in large part a reason for why people here don't see eye to eye with RR in many ways I think

Now, I'm not saying all microcaps or juniors or midcaps are bad investments, and I'm also not saying all majors are good investments. I think both have their place in a portfolio. I'm trying to point out that simply going balls to the walls in high beta shit may not always be the right choice. I pick my juniors and my majors myself. I pick the timings and I choose how much risk I want to take. I'm not very good at speculating when gold or any other commodity goes up or down so I invest a part of my capital into bigger companies with low costs and strong balance sheets. Part of my portfolio goes into more speculative investments. It doesn't have to be this all or nothing game.

As the ETF goes up, the ETF is forced to buy their holdings thus adding EXTRA TORQUE to the miners held within.

This is how I'm currently tracking the gold miners. It's not perfect but this spreadsheet got me in to GDX below $24.

I track (1) GDX vs GLD and (2) GLD vs GSG, aka the "real price of gold", on 1, 3 & 10 year timeframes. To check exuberance in the gold price, I simply look at the percent above or below the 200 day moving average. When gold is 15% above the 200dma, it's beginning to get frothy.

The 2011 & 2020 tops happened with gold 25%+ over its own moving average. If gold is 10% below its own 200dma, that often indicates excessive pessimism.

Interested to hear from other people what indicators you look at. The other one I might add is gold miners vs the metals & mining ETF.
