The inflation the US is going to experience once a trillion dollars formerly used as foreign reserves in various countries are sent back to the US and enter circulation will be truly biblical. The lack of purchasing power Americans have enjoyed for nearly a century due to other countries needing to purchase dollars for international trade will evaporate and cause many npc consumers to have a religious experience. Many won't be able to come to terms with the sudden and drastic cut to their quality of life and they will kill themselves. Russians are used to living like Russians, burgers are not.

Hoarding precious metals for the economic collapse is about as useful as hoarding candy for the zombie apocalypse. Sure, it might make you feel better for a little while, but eventually, you'll realise that you can't eat gold and silver, and you'll be left with a bunch of shiny rocks while everyone else is out there trading goods and services for the things they actually need. So, unless you're planning on fashioning a suit of armour out of your PMs to fight off the economic collapse, you might want to reconsider your hoarding strategy. It felt like that back in late 2020 and I stopped stacking and then everything pulled back and we got another window (some great prices on gold for a bit). We'll see what happens. Lots of FOMO right now and if the Fed keeps raising rates while sneaking QE in the back door, all that will do is trick the retards into thinking things are under control still and that can trigger a pullback in metals. I have no crystal ball, I could see it going either way though. At some point we're going to hit a point where the next leg up for gold and silver is going to be explosive, it's just a matter of what triggers it (maybe a fed pivot in rates).

>> No.54474836

>>54474717
I think people who buy into BtC while shit collapses will see the price rise, however it will stall out while PMs run away. People will be desperate to unload their crypto for real things and no one will have any trust in non tangible things for a long long long time. The collapse of the bond market is going to open us all up to major shortfalls in capital. So much so that people won't be able to afford anything and the government will literally be desperate to spend write checks to keep the "payment system" humming along rather than allow it all to collapse. But collapse it shall. The economy needs to clear bad debts via bankruptcy. It needs to wipe out student loans, MBS, etc so prices can be allowed to adjust downwards. People who own toxic paper will be taking the biggest bite on the turd sandwich.

>I want a taco and have a case of water to trade
>Have to find someone with a taco who wants a case of water
Gold and silver became money because they are the universal intermediary that everyone values. As money they are useful precisely because they facilitate trade. While you can't eat them they are the original thing you use to get the things that you can eat.

While I suspect you're just pretending to be retarded, I find replying with sarcasm or ironic shitposting to be tiresome. If it's not obvious how one can own food guns and PMs at the same time, consider how much it costs to be 'in the door' so to speak in each of those categories. I like to think of this in terms of different tiers of spending starting from very low/entry level
>$1-500
At this level you can get a decent handgun and enough ammo for a few training sessions, you can stock a freezer or a pantry with the essentials to get you through a week or two of food insecurity, and you can start a small stack or silber.
>$500-2500
At this point your arsenal just keeps expanding, maybe you have a couple more handguns or a very nice AR. You can stack months of freeze-dried food and a couple hundred gallons of water or even some water filters. This is also the tear where you can start getting into buying whole ounces of gold to go along with whatever silver you have.
>$2500+
Realistically at this point, there's not much left to do except stack more precious metals. Once you have about a year of emergency food per person in your household, and once you have a primary and sidearm for those people as well, there's diminishing returns as far as the value of continuing to spend in that area. However once you have a decent arsenal and stack of food, the sky's the limit on your ability to stack silver and gold. Realistically the only limit is how much you are comfortable holding on your property.

Nothing, buttcoin has a lot of problems but the divisibility isn't one of them. You could even argue that gold and silver are infinitely divisible as long as you have confidence in the entity doing the dividing. In a hypothetical where the entire world decided to use physical Ag for all their transactions, 10% or even 5% coins might emerge to satisfy the demand. Obviously at what point a 'silver coin' can be diluted while still being considered as such is an open question, but the point remains that there's no law saying all silver has to be sterling or 999

At the risk of waking the resident crypto hyper autist up from his slumber, a physical asset like gold or silver is not infinitely divisible, you can really only trade in quantities of about a gram or so. This is actually a fault for gold, because a little gram bar is still too valuable to make small purchases, and dealing in quantities under a gram is difficult logistically. As far as BTC goes, you can buy a hundred millionth of a BTC because it’s digital.

You get 1 gov token for each dollar and I'll easily get 10-20 tokens for each dollar held in gold and silver.

Even in the worst case scenario I still win. I'll still be able to buy my castle and my farmland and I will still hold a large stack of gold and silver after doing so.

They think because crypto isn’t physical that’s a strength, and if Bitcoin had inherent value, that non-physicality would be a strength. But since Bitcoin is only valuable because normies are holding it, if there’s a jump scare and normies sell their crypto for a tangible asset or fiat, BTC price collapses. They need the retard class to keep buying it. Even if there’s no way to hack it or there’s no meaningful way for the government to regulate it outside of banning crypto trading platforms through bullying ISPs, all it takes is for the government to scare the normies out of it for crypto to go belly up.

There are 21,000,000x100,000,000=2,100,000,000,000,000 sats in total. That's plenty. If that really isn't enough the protocol can be changed of course, but it would require all involved parties (miners, nodes, users) to agree to it. This is why there are forks like Bitcoin Cash and the like. That's what happens when there is disagreement. If no one wants it no one will use the changed version, unlike what happens with government issued fiat.
Anyway, if it were required it would be because a single sat became too valuable, like if it was 1sat=$1 now. This would not be "printing" (devaluing) money though.

Where do you think crypto fits in on Exter's pyramid? Is it at the bottom with gold, which has absolutely no counterparty risk? No, because there IS counterparty risk, and that counterparty is the mere whim of the government allowing it to exist. This puts it at least as high as government bonds, at a minimum, except the risks are profoundly different in kind. Government bonds are an obligation of the government and a source of its power, crypto can ostensibly be seen as opposition to that, so if one were more risky in terms of its relationship to the government, it would be crypto, pushing it even higher up the pyramid.
Keep in mind, crypto isn't technically a part of the pyramid, we're just trying to figure out which layer has the same amount of counterparty risk. In a flight to safety scenario, if crypto and govt bonds are in the same layer, they should rise together, and wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what we've seen these past few weeks. As the flight to safety continues, bonds will be dumped, CRYPTO WILL BE DUMPED, and even cash will eventually be dumped as hyperinflation sets in.

If things start collapsing I think there only survivors will be REAL, TANGIBLE, PRODUCTIVE capital. Crypto is neither of those. Crypto is a function of cheap money and will collapse with everything else. Imagine if your savings account actually paid 5% interest per year like it did back in 2005. Why would people be speculating on digital tokens? In that kind of environment we will have actual, sensible valuations. Crypto's valuation is not sustainable without cheap money and credit, and part of the collapse of exters pyramid is that all of these counterparties are not longer in a position to spend into our economy and bad assets are revealed as such. Crypto may very well get a little pump, but it will be outpaced by physical goods such as PMs. People will be desperate to unload crypto and I think in a world where the debt bubbles are imploding and people are left holding the bags no one will be interested in crypto. Crypto holders will be like everyone else standing in the breadlines waiting for something to eat because they have nothing left to sell.

Crypto wants to be what gold is without effort. Limited, unchanging supply, universally accepted, and, most importantly, private. You cannot track me handing a rock to another man for something in return. The only thing cryptocurrencies have on PMs is convenience and divisibility. It's hard to trade .0001oz of gold, but it's instant to trade crypto. The biggest hurdle in making people believe crypto IS money is getting them to trust and understand it. Gold and silver have literal millennia of history in value, and you cannot fake it. You can try to fake it, but just as there's a thousand ways to fake it, there's a thousand ways to make sure it's real.

But to answer your question, that's why there's a lot of shill threads. The slightest uptick in price, usually correlating with the weakening dollar, makes them mad. It makes them mad because they want Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to replace gold and silver as the world's universal currency.

Why would you take your money out of the global banking fiat ponzi scheme, convert it into tangible assets, then pay the fucking banks to watch it and hope they don't "lose" it one day? If you're paranoid about getting robbed, the only answer for that is take good preventative measures to not get robbed. The safety and security of your property is your responsibility, you have to learn to accept that. In short, figure it the fuck out.

I would never go that far, but I think that a case can be made for a safe deposit box in some circumstances, like if one is renting an apartment in a shady neighborhood and can't install a safe.
Depends on one's personal risk assessment and why one is stacking in the first place.

>apocalyptic trading purposes lol
I've changed my way of thinking about fractionals, not for the apocalypse, but for "mental camouflage" as I've heard from many wise people. If silver value skyrockets where were talking 100oz could get you a 2 bedroom house in 2040 (let's just keep it hypothetical), you wouldn't want to flash around your silver, even to dealer/buyers. I'd rather have random, different size pieces than a bunch of the same 1oz rounds. That way if you were in a situation where you only had one buyer, they'd think you're not as wealthy when you'd sell as needed. If one seller consistently has ASEs, and someone noticed a pattern, that may may make you a target versus the ""poorfag"" who doesn't appear to have much silver. I'm sure most frens ITT think similarly.
