you're a white guy - first strike. you went into a field currently being flooded with 3rd pajeets who fulfill diversity quotes and work for lower wages - strike 2. we're in a bad recession with inflation going vertical (the government and media are lying about everything) - strike 3.

but anyway, keep trying. you might get something and it's better than stocking shelves at a grocery store. just tailor your resume and keep doing MEANINGFUL projects to showcase on github.

Welcome...to the real world. This is how it was for us millenials graduating between 2008 and 2014. Market was dogshit for a while. My first job out of college in 2013 paid $13 per hour. Even today I'm not even making double that. Remember, the first job you get out of college will determine much of the fate of your career, employers will see your resume and think "he accepted X amount of pay at previous shit job, he can survive off of that, we don't need to pay much more".

Also your looks probably don't help you. Pay attention what directors of departments look like. After a certain while, you'll realize almost anyone at any company with any influence is a conventionally physically attractive person.

I'm not trying to demoralize you. My friend is a software engineer who's also short and he makes well over 6 figs per year, got a great job right out of college in 2013 or 2014. So, it is possible. Unfortunately right now tech is going through layoff after layoff

Not the cloud certifications but I've been meaning to. But as far as ai you can literally use chatgpt to write cover letters. I've been fucking around with stable diffusion while working from home. Once this shit takes off it's going to create a lot of job opportunities to anyone who knows how to use it or anyone who can convince the hiring manager they know how to use it. If your background is in cs then you should be fine. Just make up some bullshit about covid or crypto or traveling as to why you were unemployed

Create stuff.

I had no internships
Started at 90k after 3 months of searching
Nothing besides a degree and stuff I built with all my free time. Show some initiative. Building stuff is cool anyway

Get your resume looked over on r*ddit (or hire someone), and build out your LinkedIn. If you aren't getting any interviews, your resume is definitely the problem.
You were an intern, so add every person you ever interacted with on LinkedIn. Harass your college's career center. Go to family parties or whatever and harass the boomers for connections/jobs. It sucks ass but networking is really the most effective way to get a job. I landed a comfy wfh position literally just because my friend knew the CEO, I had almost zero relevant experience.
