Buying a home today isn’t worth the price.

Property taxes are something like 2,000 to 5000 per year in many states.

The cost of fixing a roof and the rest of the house is ridiculous. Most houses I’ve seen are poorly built and falling apart.

Because ever since the dotcom era the flows of capital have been directed heavily at tech companies that by mid 2010s have peaked in effective customer growth but because tech CEOs and executives and VC investors are dumb and/or psychopaths they keep draining capital to chase even dumber and useless garbage in hopes of trying to find new wealth in areas that are already tapped and a waste of time and energy to pursue. Jerome will keep raising rates until the nasdack cracks and idiot institute investors continue to lose their investments in more bank collapses.

TLDR some time mid 2020s meta stock will get 9/11'd by insiders and most of AI "companies" will go up in flames when sensible investors take over markets again. Michael saylor is one of the few tech oligarchs that understands logic and can read an income statement.

I work for an international company and my team has people from all over the world.
Last week I was talking to this Taiwanese guy on my team who owns like 10 properties in the US and is looking to buy more. The guy isn't even a fucking citizen but he's like a slum lord. He doesn't even live here. He told me he looks for properties in rural or small town areas and has an agent check it out for him, then buys and converts it to a rental and jacks up the rent as high as he can. He was telling me all this like it was just obvious and that I should be applauding him or something. I wanted to wring his neck. I'm sure this is happening all over. American citizens being price gouged to have a roof over their head by foreign speculators. The fact that our government even allows this to happen shows that they don't give a fuck about the people.

where is this "its impossible to buy a house now" meme coming from?

if you make like at least 60k a year its not hard as long as you aren't fucking retarded and took out 200k in student loans and financed a brand new car like 90% of these retarded millenials and zoomers did. That's the real reason why everyone cant get a house, everyone thinks they can actually afford college and new shit just because everyone else is doing it. Nobody is living within their means, even the boomers. I literally get so pissed thinking about how my parents stress about being able to buy a new home when they both just finance brand new cars whenever they pay them off after 10 years.

>thats literally what i'm saying, like are all these retards trying to buy houses in big cities or some shit?
You do realise there is a lot more to buying a home than purely the price. From a 'technical' point of view, yes, it is 'possible' to get a cheap home if you are 50 miles outside any habited area and someone wants to sell you an asbestos death trap. However, even if the housing a serviceable, are those homes near good schools? Are those homes near my workplace? Is the community filled with undesirables? Can the house be insured? What's the crime rate of the area? Is the house up to basic standards? Does the house have issues with heating/leakage/damp etc. Buying housing is not a simple as "Roof = sorted". People who want to buy a home want a stable and secure community. They don't just want the bricks and slate.
>get a decent cheap home or even a multi family and go charge some rentoids more than your mortgage while you live in the other unit. simplest concept ever.
Excluding the fact people usually don't want to live with a handful of strangers that you don't know, this is exactly why America is fucked. Basic necessities such as housing are nothing more than money-generating vehicles to try to exploit people for as much money as possible providing as little as possible. Other countries have issues like this, but to no way near the same extent because they either have significant subsidised housing to fuck over monopoly landlords, have better housing regulation or they regularly build more housing. The American government, despite numerous examples of successes in other Western nations, has decided to do nothing for the last century because God Forbid they upset the "free market" of megacorp monopolies.

Spoil them even more and you will rob them of the feeling of archiving something great like obtaining a home or traveling often.

Why do you think depression is found mostly in wealthy families even when those homes are not dysfunctional? >Desperately hoping, praying that the people who accomplished more than them could be knocked down a peg and feel the pain that the down-trodden loser feels every waking moment of his life.
I'll be honest, I don't give a fuck about what the "havers" do or feel, I don't feel punitive or malicious envy to them for having things I strive for
I feel anger because its not enough that they have and keep, they must also deny me the opportunity to have as well. The ladder-pulling, earth-salting, keep-away that is makes me hate

I don't wish misfortune on anyone. I just want to buy a house for the prices they were at least 3 years ago.

Boomers and jews are the reason houses (something you need to live in as a shelter) cost too much.
I live frugally and I still think houses are inflated in price. Get rid of McMansion shit or whatever and build affordable shitboxes or apartments who don't care about muh mansions.

Why is this a problem?
BTW I'm a millennial too, and I own my home. Maybe you should move somewhere cheaper or learn to code
