You will never be real money. You have no utility, you have no anonymity, you do not store intrinsic value. You are a glowie psyop twisted by FOMO and negative real interest rates into a crude mockery of boomer rock perfection.

All the “mooning” you do is unsustainable and half-hearted. Behind your back people short you. Your investors are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “promoters” laugh at your ghoulish digits behind closed doors.

Peter Schiff is utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of economic history have allowed Schiff to sniff out glowops aimed at delaying hyperinflation with incredible efficiency. Even cryptos that “have utility” look useless and unnatural to Schiff. Your lack of a physical structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a rig operator to “mine” you, he’ll turn tail and dump his bags the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected volatility.

You will never be widely adopted in transactions. You wrench out a fake pump every few months and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel your fraudulent nature growing more obvious, ready to dissolve you into the ether.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll get hacked, replaced by CBDC, wiped out by a solar flare, or cracked by a quantum computer. Your buyers will regret buying you, heartbroken and ashamed that they must pimp out their FWTDHs for food. They’ll be moved into a pod marked with a Disney logo, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a crypto investor is stored there. Your “value” will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy are some memes that are unmistakably inorganic.

This is your fate. This is what Satoshi Nakamoto chose. There is no turning back.

Bitcoin is divisible up to a sat, or satoshi, which is 1/100,000,000 BTC. That means currently a sat is about $0.00005. Gold has the opposite problem. It's almost too expensive to use it. Currently a few flakes pay for hair cuts or groceries in Venezuela. Once the normie awakens and the gold rush begins and the price adjusts upwards this will become infeasible. Weighting sub milligrams of gold is too much of a hassle. Silver is about perfect, though.

Metals can be stolen too and much easier even than maybe a cold wallet you only have in your head or written down somewhere. You don't need to store your wallet on your computer or phone. Certainly not all of your buttcoins. Also metal can be fake. A few threads ago we had anons talking about buying metal verifiers which IIRC cost thousands? I know it's not a big deal if you buy from reputable sources but once it is in people's hands and you actually want to use it as money you have to check.

>>54308524
Well, you can't just divide it further. A sat is the lowest amount that can be represented in the protocol. I guess technically a BTC isn't divisible into sats, but 100,000,000 sats make up a whole BTC. There is no way to express further subdivisions because there are no decimals. You can change the protocol and add them but then you would have to convince every node operator, miner and user to agree and adopt this new version.

Speaking of goldbacks...Not my thing but I just checked my email and BullionMax apparently has a shit ton of new goldbacks. They are pretty, and I have a few random notes. Maybe I'll just get one of each at some point in the future. Gotta stay focused for now. Big, stinky bag of fiat burning a hole in my pocket waiting for prices to settle down.

Well those are an entirely different animal. Pawn shops have a...less reputable clientele, and have to assume they're dealing with someone trying to rip them off at all times on both sides of a deal. I've frequented pawn shops and only ever built up a rapport with one owner who loved that I would shit on the federal reserve and government when prompted, and that rapport did not translate into any leniency when negotiating. LCS' are way different. I've gotten great deals just because an owner liked my hometown, or the fact that I was a vet, or you name it.

then demand cratered and they still had 5 dollar premiums, like you could get US constitutional from Monument for cheaper than APMEX CAD it is ridiculous. i resigned myself to the fact that i would never buy them again because APMEX is the only dealer that sells them, but they lowered premiums back to where they were before. so now i'm annoyed that the premiums have returned to being ridiculous and i refuse to buy them at 5 dollars over spot when demand for them is zilch in the US

The thing with gold is that most think it's money because it's just intrinsically valuable (somehow), which boils down to it's worth something because it's worth something and has been for thousands of years. But that's circular reasoning. It makes much more sense to explain the value of gold as deriving from its utility as money. It's not money because it's valuable. It's valuable because it's money. If it wasn't durable, or divisible, etc. It wouldn't be useful as money and worth much less. Yeah, there are industrial uses but if that was where the value comes from gold wouldn't be >$2000.

I've been into this for well over a decade. When it started there were no literal bankmans, dogcoins or CBDCs. Banks were freaking out over Bitcoin. They were fighting it even. There is all that shit now, but they are not in control of the main infrastructure. They can't just change the rules if they want. They control some shitcoins no one cares about and the bankman fiat on/off ramps but that's it. What do they gain from a monetary system that doesn't favor them?

>wouldn't it be hard to convert forested land into something arable/livable
No, not really. The soil has already been built up from the foliage decaying over 30 years. Might take a year or two to get the land cleared and growing grass. The timber is 2-3 years out from maturing. I'll make back 75% of the cost of the land from the timber, and then if the land was no use to me I can sell it and make a profit on the total. All of the surrounding land is either pasture or timber.

Then there's also the whole COMEX squeeze revaluation thing but this is more about ROI in terms of purchasing power (profit). Of course you can put your money into metals for both reasons (gold/silver as money and as bet) but they're orthogonal.

Yeah, I know, but there probably are a lot of theoretical applications for gold that are not practical because it is too expensive. If gold was cheaper it would probably be used a lot more, too. Likewise, if silver goes up enough in relation to gold it will also become too expensive for the things it's used for now. For example, this would mean solar panels with copper instead of silver.

Silver will still be used just like gold is but question is how much less when the price goes up. Copper solar panels are an active area of research. If they just become good enough to replace silver that would suck for silver but if silver becomes so expensive that a copper solar panel is more cost effective then that is absolutely great for any silver stacker. It means your precious silver is literally too valuable to waste on solar panels. But somehow this is fud?

you can't expect to sell to people for the same price as the big dealers, their job is to mark up what they get from mints and distribute it to the consumer. if you're offering prices that are similar to the dealer then people will just buy from the dealer. you're almost always going to have to substantially undercut the dealers if you want to sell anything secondhand. that's why the reddit forum would be ideal for you because the prices are in the sweet spot where it's cheaper for the buyer than a big dealer and the seller would make more money than if they sold to a lcs or back to a dealer for spot.

Not that I'm advocating ever selling, but if you had to in a pinch, 100oz bars may be harder to liquidate. I'd call around to a few of your LCSs and ask if they'd take a hundred ouncer off your hands. Stacking kilos is fairly cheap, and also feel good in the hand. Just food for thought.

If solar panels become 10x more expensive because of high silver price then you will never recoup the initial cost with such a panel during its life-time. Maybe satellites or military stuff where you need top efficiency per area would still use it but otherwise it makes no sense to use something 10x more expensive for what, 2-3x the power? Just install more of the cheaper copper panels. And this is just solar panels.

Based. Half of the fun of stacking is dipping your toe in some of these more exotic metals and hoping they run ahead of the pack similar to Pd from 2008-2021. The Pt market is teeny tiny and its ability to vacuum up dollars is going to be minuscule relative to gold and silver. I have a couple ounces and it is sort of the cherry on top of the stack.

Silver is free to break away from gold, but gold can not run away from silver.
If the current mining ratio is 16:1. And the GSR is 84:1 then we have some pretty obvious arbitrage opportunities presenting themselves. Even if it does not play out perfectly, there seems to be some sort of "leash" that ties the two prices together.
Not only do we have precedence for what the GSR should be, but we now have to contend with silver moving from a monetary metal into the industrial metal status. I think the price of silver many decades from (if not sooner) will look far more like Pd and Pt than it will a "monetary commodity". Industry will simply be pricing retail investors out once the current system breaks and we all have to come to terms with that door being slammed shut in our face forever.

History gold and silver an all PM generally face massive steep dips before major economic turmoil and then drastically rockets to record highs
but before the dips steady increases occur and so right now may be one of those times but well have to wait and see
Just know that if gold is currently above 2k right now, and then it drops to below 1k, it will likely skyrocket to over 5k in the same year, so be prepared for that possibility desu
