BBBY has the spiciest option chain I have ever seen. Writing options allows you to monetize shares you already own by basically being compensated for taking on a little bit of risk. However, you want to write options for shares you own so they if they are exercised they do so profitably. This does not always happen so you have a window when it is most opportune. Buying a metric fuckton of shares when something is cheap gives you the opportunity to write more options when you can sell profitably. If you have 5000 shares of BBBY, bought at $1 each. You can potentially write 50 covered calls. Now, what happens if they price moves up to $2. You can write 50x covered calls and basically start raking in passive income. This is a good reason to slurp up BBBY even without a squeeze. If the stock returns to a normal price you can pump and prime the passive income at some point in the future.
