There once was an autistic 4chan browsing virgin who thought he could make a quick buck by day trading on the stock market. He believed he would become rich overnight and gain fame and accolades from his peers. He hit /biz/ and started to "research" about trading. Little did he know that he was in for the surprise of his life.

The man was an oddball with strange habits; one of them being to stick marbles and eggs up his ass while trading. Due to the early onset of psychosis and drug abuse, he thought that this would increase his luck and bring him success in the markets.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned as he soon found out that day trading was harder than it seemed. He lost money quickly and his investments dwindled to nothing.

Despairing over his losses, destitute and buck-broken, the man decided to take his own life in a rather deranged and comical way which he thought would make people remember him forever. He decided to get into a big bathtub filled with marbles and eggs, like the ones he used to shove up his ass while trading, and lay down in it until he drowned.

And so, the 4chan user lost all of his money in the stock market and killed himself in a funny way, with marbles and eggs up his ass and all.

We as humans have this drive for a unification of meaning, the hegelian dialectic is the notion that we as a group initialize upon a convergence of meaning as if it were sonar resonance. At all times humans are seeking a mutual understanding of "blue" to the finest point of accuracy. But why must we approach the same meanings? Why must eveyone's blue be the same? Why is this the human motive par excellence? Because the function of understanding is structured within the language itself, there becomes an implicit bias towards unification. If one were to structure a language with different modalities we would then become capable of accepting more disjointed interpretations of reality. We are slaves to such subtle things, corralled around like cattle by borders you cannot see.

We aren't. The S&P is above the 20% technical bear market threshold.

>rising rates environment
No, we're in a falling rates environment as far as the market is concerned. One more hike is coming, but the market is already pricing past that to cuts.

>banks are collapsing like flies
The banking panic is already over.

>China is for once actually going super public about supporting Russia's war which means it will probably start using the yuan to fuck with global trade
It won't affect global trade.

>oil is signalling a recession
There's no evidence for a recession except dumb macro heuristics with no predictive validity and a sample size of like N=5. Meanwhile the economy is still strong, terminal rate is almost here, blue chip tech companies are ready to explode higher off of the AI boom and inflation will rapidly decline over the next few months due to base effects and declining shelter costs. The outlook for the next few years is super bullish and the safest tech co's are CHEAP right now. Even if we somehow don't get a soft landing, QE will be coming which is still bullish.

Then you don't understand the power of hypnosis. Which, if you get elected to Congress, you should have a pretty good comfort level at least subconsciously.
The amount of power in electronic media that is catering itself to your personal psychological profile is limited only by the physical and mental abilities of the viewer. Trance abuse is easily 80% of the US economy, and nearly 100% of US political front. Giving the ability to subliminally insert anti-US messages, for even a day, is a quick way to hell, for the US.

>theres an effort to use vulkan instead of cuda for compute on GPU, pytorch has a vulkan layer but its not well supported yet and it will take a long time to gain steam if it ever takes hold. this would make all GPUs (intel, amd, nvidia and all modern mobile gpus) able to do compute on GPU for things like stable diffusion

Basically nvidia is the only game in town for the foreseeable future. They are an entrenched player in the space. I ended up buying a very expensive 4090 for CUDA and 24GB of VRAM fore this very reason over the much cheaper 7900XTX (the gaming perf difference meant nothing to me)

They're not the only game in town even today. The foreseeable future, kek. You really underestimate how quickly things can change around CUDA. You even admitted as much yourself so I'm not sure why you're getting mad at me here, I'm all for choice and not locking people into proprietary tech like CUDA. Kek, now that I think about it, CUDA is really the OSX of AI, proprietary, first out of the gate, first mover advantage, but not necessarily going to stay that way forever.
It's funny how the tranny here >>54285502 was just accusing *me*of somehow being against human progress, which itself was a non sequitur. I'm in favor of people making the tech here better but that is tough when Nvidia is as closed with the tech as it is. Nvidia is really following the closed-ecosystem Apple playbook here but I question how badly humanity needs AI vs needing an iphone.

Wrong. Once inflation is back to 2% annualizing the MoM print the Fed will start cutting to pre-empt a recession, this will be the catalyst for a soft landing. The economy just needs to hold out for a few more months to let base effects and shelter bring inflation down.

Next you'll claim that the cuda kernels that were optimized to shit for the past 2 decades, as well as the frameworks leveraging them, can be rewritten for AMD's shitshow of an environment in 5 seconds despite nobody doing that, no budget being poured into that, AMD having shown no interest in their own environment in the past 20 years even as nvidia cards were mandatory for all deep learning work (and nearly all gpgpu work in the first place), and the numerous failed projects showing that's just never happening, because... it just is OK?

>They're not the only game in town even today. The foreseeable future, kek. You really underestimate how quickly things can change around CUDA
What are you going on about? No one is just magically going to use a new API because its "open". Vulkan on pytorch has been in its miserable state for years. ROCm is an abject failure from the clowns at AMD.

Have you ever wondered why AMD or Intel don't just implement the CUDA API directly? Or hell, why no one has implemented CUDA with a CPU back end? NV has a proprietary API that they own and will probably sue the fuck out of anyone that tries that. No one is willing to go to war over this like Google did with Java. Nvidia is an entrenched player, I am happy to see them crumble but its a pipe dream. Best hope right now seems to be high level API replacement based on Vulkan that can be slotted into major ML libs like Pytorch (FB has not given enough resources to using Vulkan as a backend directly, or there may be some other limitation I dont know or care about). That will happen long term if at all. Again, I hate NV because I paid nearly a grand extra for what would amount to a trivial difference in hardware for my purposes but they basically own the space. Any panic was misguided in the first place. The so called bank runs were caused by liquidity issues created by completely insane mismanagement of customer funds, and they still got aggressively covered by both the government and big banks. The few people panicking are mostly retards who don't know the full story or the same people that panic at every snippet of news they see.

The real takeaway is that the banking panic has only just gotten started, it's like a forest fire now. They have put out the fire in one part of the forest for now. And liquidity issues are happening because rate hikes are "uncovering" all the mismanagement. It's good you mentioned 2008 because back then, it didn't all crash at once. This cycles Lehman hasn't happened yet.

If you mean Vulkan doesn't have enough access to the framebuffer then idk if that's true. Idk enough about Vulkan specifically but I thought that was the point, that it gets almost complete access to the hardware. Kind of an important thing to mention since we're talking about a ML model having access to hardware here.

Pretty much. The news is so weaponized at this point that you could have some shitty "bank" stationed out of a trailer park run by a bunch of hicks collapse because they were speculating on pig semen and the news could blast a big enough spotlight on it in just the right way to make at least a 3rd of the country panic. In fact, by not knowing about Trailer Park Bank a significant portion of the population would be in an even greater panic.
>Wait, I've never heard of them...they must be important, they must be special and serve some elite clientele...how could they fail...if they weren't important why is the news talking about them?
And then people do their due diligence and it turns out pic related was the CEO and that makes people panic even MORE because then they're like
>Oh my God THAT was the CEO??? Is this what the financial system typically is like??? Are they all run in this way by people like this??? OMG!
There's just no escaping the human element and the people in power play that shit like a fiddle.
