Just buy the lowest cost passive ETF of a big enough index like S&P 500

Yes, this is very best the advise to invest your money (except if your name is Warren Buffet). Buy it and hold it. There have been so many papers published that show this. You cannot predict the market, what you can do is save yourself some risk and some transaction costs. Any investment advisor that tells you different is plain wrong and probably has a second agenda.

Everyone should have at least a portion of their portfolio in assets like these but fuck, it is far too boring to go all in on an ETF. I'm willing to trade volatility for some excitement

everyone has a different level of risk they need to take or are willing to accept depending on their present financial state and future goals. the safe bets aren't the most profitable and some people aren't in a position to afford the luxury of safe bets.

This is old news and does not take into account the current landscape. Bitcoin has been the greatest investment in the last decade and theres a reason every big finance has been increasing their exposure to it. It shows no signs of stopping within the next 3 decades. I'm not saying ETFS are going away and I have some myself but to go all in on them is the suckers play rn.
