Well today was interesting. Amazon and Microsoft has a rather shit day.

LMAO at the Twitch streamers coping and seething. AMZN laid off over 9000 and part of that was Twitch, 400 purple wagies gone. That company already had staff quitting and walking out in droves by a few hundred at a time iirc.

If only it was public, I would be shorting the shit out of Twitch stocks right now, the company is a ticking time bomb financially kek.

While they're extremely good products, I can't bruteforce test my ideas. I might overfit in some instances, but look at MACD for example. I could define a one-year period and test every single combination of the three inputs to see what worked best for a given period. Also some other quant shit like correlation and stuff.
Then, I look at the current market conditions and compare it another year to find the best fit and figure out what a good strategy would be.
I saw an indicator I was quite fond of as well, which used a basic neural net to assign weights to several other indicators (RSI, MACD, MA, etc) so in theory I should be able to tweak numbers and find an optimal combination

At the very least, I can automatically scrape the market data off Yahoo every week and run it through some basic desktop TA to screen for stuff that matches my trading system and look for potential entries and plays

Okay here's another interesting thing
This strategy spends 10% of it's portfolio if the price > 50MA and 200MA, and exits as soon as it breaks below 200MA. Kinda like the TQQQ meme strategy, without the leverage.
Just a basic test.
Looking at the worst years (2000/2001, 2007/2008, 2017/2018 (extreme crab)), and running it for two years, it would still provide a 3% annual gain or loss at best. But on the good years, it was getting an average of 10-12% (without leverage).

This is far from financial advice, but I'm still averaging down, and have 2 more triggers I intend to inject further at (around 3 and 1, if need be). I do not personally understand this and cannot personally affirm it, but today there was a huge spike in volume exactly at what wound up being the lowest point in the dip. An Anon told me that that was thought by some group of whomevers to be the assumed bottom due to apparent relative price stability after most of the reports on weather and European lack of needs having been more or less setting in. That's the essence of it, as best I can nutshell and express it. I had been planning to wait until minus 4 to do my next average down injection, but seeing that and hearing that explanation caused me to just go ahead and pull the trigger at 4.25 because I definitely wanted to get in a minimum of one more injection before it goes back up. With FOMC coming up though, who the fuck knows what anymore.

Oh, and large jugs of olive oil. I cook up batches of beans and rice and keep them in tupperwares to just scoop out of whenever I need a meal of them. I substitute anything I would normally put butter on/in with olive oil. I also sometimes add skim mozzarella, and sometimes chopped up Bar S hotdog.

Holding for a rebound is a bad idea unless you actually have reason to expect NG trades meaningfully higher within the next month or so.

>As of year-end 2022, The deposit insurance fund had assets of a little over $128 billion invested in government securities.
>

In the past week, the Fed’s financial statement shows it borrowed an additional $143 billion to fund the FDIC’s bailout of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank, even though the FDIC is supposed to fund bank bailouts using the deposit insurance fund and, if need be, by borrowing from the U.S. Treasury. Instead, the Fed borrowed these funds and lent them to the FDIC to keep these bank failures from reducing the Treasury’s cash balances.

I've been selling OTM puts on BOIL to avoid bagholding. I'm very bullish on gas since this dip is a once-in-a-lifetime black swan event. The trick is finding a bottom. I plan to start accumulating under 4 if it drops and under 5 if it rises. Don't expect a significant jump until summer imo. Storage is full right now and demand is at risk with all this recession talk. That being said, climate predictions for this summer in North America are hot to very hot, and that's at least enough to normalize prices. I'm going all in very soon, just looking for a bottom. It's a month away max, most likely within 2 weeks.

That's my two cents as someone who's been all over this play for a while without losing any money.

Just a general thought; whenever I go to Bank of America, they have the shittiest customer service of any bank. Managers will walk around asking you how they can help while the line at the teller is 10 people deep. They will try to sell you finance products at every step of the way. Want to get a secured card for someone with no credit? They'll try to get you to cosign for an unsecured card.

Given that these are the products being pushed and the people being hired, I have doubts as to how solid their books actually are. Disaffected staff and a lax corporate structure results in lazy banking.
