What is everyone's long term strategy here? Are you just accumulating dollars with a view to buy real estate and fuck hookers later?
I'm not really doing anything drastically different to that, but one difference is I want to convert as much fiat to gold or silver (low preference for crypto but maybe some Asscorn) as possible.

Did the hookers thing when I was younger, now am happily married and own a house (bought almost fully with cash). So now the strategy, I guess, is investing in stocks for retirement. What are you here for?

Techniggers will seethe as AI doesnt pump their stocks that were in a dotcom bubble for 25 years, msft and apple holders divvy maxxing will be fine but everyone else will be stuck in limbo hell as t*sla doesnt give a single divvy and shit like nvidia and amd are priced in for multiple years. I bought the smallest, shittiest studio apartment I could find, main criteria was it should be affordabekl with the cash I had. Not paying rent anymore enabled me to increase my savings much faster, then after working 10 years and living frugally I could afford the house.
When we got married, my wife moved with me into my 34 qm studio, when you're in love it doesnt matter. We started looking for sth bigger as we could afford it. :-)

The commie blocks are unavoidable i think. Where else would people live to work? And it doesnt matter if you leave because then the residents just move to the next area to find work that they can afford and the city grows anyway. People need affordable housing but no one wants it near them. I see the commie blocks as inevitable and im preparing to not be living in one myself. Your job pay well at all? Another thing that is fucked up: tons of bussinesses ran by middle class went bankrupt during covid because governments told them it's illegal to stay open. None of those companies ever got air time. But when it's a bank that fails, it becomes a national issue and everyone rushes to help them.
I still remember 2008 crysis and nothing has changed since then really. Bankers will continue getting free money while middle class gets middle finger.

>FT article about UBS buying out CS for $2bn
https://archive.md/Twado
If they really do get bought out for $2bn, then the shareholders get about $0.50 per share. So I expect the price to dip to that range, probably even a bit lower because people will rush to sell.
Unless they put a halt on trading until the buyout happens, we will have time to offload our puts.

I bought some more last week on Thursday when it was green for a bit, though.

The other I owe 15 years on or $600k. I've had a good couple of years and I hope to pay off about $300k of that by 2024.
Between my wife and I we have about $900k in retirement savings (spread out between pensions and retirement savings/investment accounts)
I'm 39 and I have 4 kids, each with ~$50k in a 529. My goal is to give each of them enough to put a down payment on their first place. Stretch goal is to buy them each a 1 or 2br so they don't have to worry about subsistence.

OK, I think I have my gameplan determined for the coming storms. I'm prepared to average down into BOIL at 3 levels (below 4, 3, and a double dose under 1, fuck 2). I expect to hold that until Oct/Nov at the very least, perhaps Jan 24, but always in motion is evaluation.

I am also readying to buy some DE since it has taken some hit recently. I assume that is largely due to the increases on debt rates reducing sales for some time, but I have watched it maintain incredible strength in my son's portfolio, and it's probably my personal favorite large company overall. I consider them to be something akin to the Tesla of agriculture, yet without a flakey tard at the helm. I wish their divy was more substantial, but expect their long term grown to outweigh it.

people are irrational, driven by fear and greed - circuit breaker promotes stability, preventing extreme panics
trading resumes after 15 minutes, during that 15 minutes people can get their shit together, override their systems, turn off / adjust their algos
it's not like circuit breaker hits and trading is done for the day
just gives everyone time to chill out and figure shit out. this promotes stability, and stability promotes free markets

It's volatile now because shits fucked so there's some flight to safety dynamic happening, I just doubt it will last because it hasn't acted consistently this cycle at all.

Going into a FOMC in days.
Rate hike still being priced in by market.
Contagion coming out of the ass since SVB, and probably more bank failures coming this week.
MOTHERFUCKING SWISS NATIONAL BANK panicking.
Treasuries spiking/yields tanking.
Gold up.
Biden administration about to start looking to point fingers and take heads at Fed.

Seems pretty risk off to me. Asscorn going up with tech tells me it won't last.

Btc only pumps when tether prints.
Tether prints when the fed prints

If the banking crisis is resolved swiftly, I don't see btc breaking 50k again. If it's not I'm expecting the fabled golden bull or the us kills all fiat on ramps and makes btc difficult to purchase.

I don't see what TPTB can do to stop people both pulling their money out of banks and putting into treasuries, or at least pulling it out of regional and smaller banks and putting it into the big banks like BOA, JPM, etc. A minority will also go to Bitcoin, gold, or just stay in physical paper cash.
