He probably assumed that Satoshi Nakamoto is a common Japanese name when in fact it's extremely rare. Also, it was 2009 and he probably didn't appreciate that in a few more years everyone would have a Facebook and a LinkedIn making it easy to identify that Hal Finney was friends with Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto.

Its strange that he is mentioned in the Craig Wright court documents.
That could explain why CW came up with the fraud that he himself is satoshi. Apparently CW was working at that time for Le Roux, so he was very close to the creation of bitcoin.

Le Roux also has a history of inventing E4M (Encryption for the Masses), which at that time was groundbreaking for personal encryption, he also posted a manifesto about personal encryption and anti goverment monitoring. So he had that type of "for the masses" strain in him.
His wikipedia reads like a criminal mastermind novel.

He also has a history of burring trunks with gold in remote locations, because he was so paranoid of gov seizure of his wealth.
