UBS agrees to buy Credit Suisse for more than $2bn. Swiss authorities expected to change country’s law to bypass UBS shareholder vote.

I love it bros. I even had a whole course about le 2008 financial crisis, too big to fail, how CS and UBS have plans in place so they can fail gracefully etc. so there won't be another bailout like for UBS.
I think it wasn't even too long ago that CS finally presented their plan on how to handle a possible bankruptcy to the finma (swiss financial market supervisor).

either way bros.. ;)
Now let's forcefully merge these banks and let's disregards the laws that are in place and the plans we worked on for years.

People in charge of banks need to be held accountable. Jail time and massive fines need to be standard. It's the only way to avoid these gambling kikes from crashing everything.

The Swiss goverment is basically forcing UBS to buy credit suisse to prevent it's collapse, but the UBS are obviously against the move, since they don't want to be chained to a dead corpse, so the Swiss are changing the law to make the merger without their consent

Of course I didn't know what the result would be, but as we saw in the case of SVB and Signature, the banks were not completely "bailed out," just depositors. Given that very recent precedent it was pretty unreasonable to think buying calls on another failing bank was a good idea.

>> No.54207821

>>54206620
The Swiss government bailed out UBS in the past so have a lot of control, and they consider both UBS and CS systemically important. The gov would rather UBS suffer short term (At least they hope it's only short term) so that the banking sector doesn't get worse long term, so they're bypassing shareholders and trying to force UBS to buy CS.
