Hello fellow PMGers.
Any thoughts on the economic implications of Trump's likely arrest next week?
I'm concerned some of his supporters may try to organize a politically-driven bank run, which could further destabilize our financial system, which appears to be already teetering on the brink of total collapse and/or printer brrrrrrr capitulation.

Some newbie questions if you have time for them:
a) will premiums always be a thing or could things get so dependent on the material itself that the price per ounce raises to a point where designs aren't cared about enough to affect price?
b) in light of BRICS do you think a market would ever develop where PMs with themes from those countries are favored more?

I'm not buying anymore since 30% of the price goes to the state. Then I need silver to skyrocket by 500% or more in the next 10 years to keep up or even make a small ROI.

silver, for me at least, is still an investment and nothing else.

If I get more money back in 10 years (including dividends) buy buying IBM stocks for 5k $ instead of silver, then I don't buy silver.

Only precious metal that gives a good ROI is gold and the premium is also still very low. But gold is too expensive for normal fags to invest every month. Not many people have 1k $ over every month to just spend on precious metals after everything else

This is exactly why British Gold Sovereigns are popular because they're not over a 1k and have extremely low premiums.

Premium isn't just about coin design; the dealer has to make a cut above the value of the metal to stay in business. So long as there are dealers, there will be premiums.

As for BRICS, I can see trade units being developed and more highly prized than generic bullion, but that becomes more a matter of favored currency than design theme.

TL;DR Yes to both, but not for the reasons you're thinking.

Make a run on the bank--I mean a bank run now omw to my LCS. I have never seen a line here before (I only come on Saturdays bfore going to my LCS). However, today there are almost a dozen normies in line ahead of me and more piling up behind me. This tells me that normies are about a week to a week and half slow when banks start shitting the bed.

i remember that time around 2002-ish when silver was close to $5/oz. and when it rose to nearly $50/oz around 2012 or so.
I had purchased a little silver for well under $20/oz somewhere in between the low and the high. then I sold most of my silver at around $45/oz close to the peak. I has no idea what I was doing at the time. just got lucky or was victim of circumstance. but i remember it all very well.

so now, I'm just watching and waiting for whatever clues or signals arise to tell me the right time to buy or sell. Now considering inflation. I feel $100/oz is a very realistic expectation for near future silver high. it seems we are due for it, as there hasn't been a run-up high like what happened in 2011

I got about a grand worth of rounds and loafs varying between 5000 copper pennies, kilos, and a 300 oz big boy and bullion has seen legitimate gains in the last decade. An anon here bought copper pound bullion for like 8$ a while ago and now those babies are 32$. I love the random and niche designs on rounds and the feeling of a nice copper kilo hand poured loaf but I know that I very well wasted money that may never come back OR I’ve found the sleeper hit of the century and us COPPERCHADS will be laughing our way to the goblin brothel in 2035.

While the smart move is to only stack your copper penny change, I love all metals and feel copper is the retarded stepbrother of silver and gold.

Appreciate it. Kinda getting bored with coins and I have a bunch of tubes to fill up but they can wait. Just did some quick math and kilos drop the price per oz to somewhere near 23$. However, at 800$+ per kilo a 260ish$ 10ozer is a nice alternative. Considering I have a nice stack of 10’s to begin with it seems like enough validation to dance between tubes of pretty and divisible coins and nice and hefty 10 oz bars.

10 oz bars have great designs as well. Kilos have a terrible problem with every mint devolving into loafs of barely different designs. However, if you want to spend extra on artistic designs like the kilo South Korean doggaebi it is absolutely beautiful. First piece I ever got.

I contract out to people, usually guys who want to run a mechanical mine, to find or describe how best to mine their ground, or if there is any gold on that ground at all. I ve been doing a lot of hard rock prospecting on my own ground these last few seasons as well though, i have two properties that i want to try and get developed or at least looked at by a wider junior explorer this season, so lots and lots of boots on the ground work coming up this season.

I love prospecting for fun, but its a serious job too that if I do well pays extremely well! Spring just started, everything is thawing, but we have meters of snow to thaw before anyone gets anything done this year! I will say too, I expect to see a new wave of people trying prospecting out this year, as gold is only going up and up!

You're in the top 1% of PM holders in the world right now. Which is a surprisingly low bar since it takes only 60 ounces of silver to be in the top 1%.

Sure, i don't remember the exact price, my bad if i implied otherwise, that's what the ~ was supposed to imply, in addition to the "scale up as needed".
The main question was "why 10oz instead of kilo given their lower premiums"

More people have $250-300 to spend on a 10oz, than people having $1000 for a kilo.

Less commonly, there are reasons other than the acquisition of sheer mass for some (myself included). I go for the designs and art, and prefer coins for the numismatic influence accelerating appreciation.
Not to say kilo coins are out of the running, but I can't afford as many and as they usually have the same design as the smaller rounds, I find 1ozt to be a good compromise all around.
