Or need it but most of the price are absolutely inflated to be used on daily basis by companies and regular people.

Right now is all about the speculation.
I don't know in few years/decades when the market stabilize if cryptocurrency market will be 10x the actual or most likely /10 the actual.

there will always be a proof of work blockchain for this reason, to keep records

what would you want on a blockchain? contracts, history, photos

ethereum is correct to move away from it because it's supposed to be a distrubuted computation platform, permanence is not as useful as performance

using it to keep track of currency transactions is just a small use case for blockchain
