seriously depends on the job

when I was a gas station wagie 30 hrs felt like an eternity with the rest of my free time being consumed with dreading work

As a tradie nigger when you get into the groove of a project 12-16 hrs will go by like a moment

your results will vary

Being on medications is a big thing now yeah. I seemed to be the missing piece as to why I was always struggling to deal with wagie torture and yet everyone else just put up with it - I was going at it raw whilst they were encased in a misty eyed, heady dose of medications that allow them to disassociate from what is going on.

When I graduated college, the commencement speaker was this harpy roastie who organized the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Her "advice" was to live to work. She loved her job so much she consistently worked 60 hour weeks months through out the year.

When I was pulling 60s during wedding season I woke up alot of mornings heading into work with deep existential dread asking myself why, and there's gotta be more to this thing than just working. Ever since then I instinctually avoid overtime. My boomer father can't comprehend this saying overtime makes it easier to pay the bills

You live to work mostly.
If they have free food, that is the clincher.
You go in the morning and stay until midnight.
Free food every day, some places of a shower so you look for those places to work.
No need to pay for food or water anymore.
You take a sit at work and you live mostly there as well.
You only go to your house or rent place to sleep.

I work as a network/server tech. Most of my job is traveling to remote locations. One service visit might result in a 12 hour day due to geography. I'm stacking money, PM and guns/ammo. When I wageslave it's like I'm on drugs, except there are no drugs involved. Huge burst of motivation and energy.
I like being lazy but I also like to wageslave, and in a sense it feels like I'm happier when I wageslave, definitely much much higher energy.
But everyone is different, and I've seen many at work being depressed.

Addictions to different drugs: caffeine, depression meds, uppers/downers, alcohol, sex, this stuff is their way of keeping people complacent.

In most cases workers are literal NPC zombies indoctrinated to wageslave as much as possible. Back when I was in that lifestyle the excuse I constantly heard was "trying to get/stay ahead". Most people live a lifestyle they can't afford and have no choice; the absolute dread of homeless/food insecurity keeps them motivated.
