CME gaps are literal nothingburgers. They don't have to be filled at all. In fact, strong trends leave CME gaps behind them. Think for yourselves, don't be midwits.

The 3k CME gap is on the four hour chart. It isn't actually relevant.
>>54118260
They don't necessarily have to be filled. They just always are. Call it the cumulative effect of thousands of autistic traders who can't stand gaps between the otherwise orderly and perfect candle arrangements.

The daily. Notice how perfectly the previous one (orange arrow) was filled before price went back up, creating a new one that will be filled (blue arrow).
There are also CME gaps above current price, so it's not just a bobo thing. The significant one below is at 9.6k.

And before anyone asks, here are the two unfilled CME gaps just above current price. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the one at 28.9k gets filled before the next big dump.
They'll all get filled. Just nobody knows when or in which order.

I can't. It isn't logical.
Traders expect these gaps to be filled and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's not an absolute law of charts or anything. It just usually happens.
It isn't unique to BTC. It happens in the stock market too. Price will suddenly jump up and a candle will close just to fill a gap. Pic related shows price actually interrupting an uptrend just to fill the gaps before it resumed the trend.
It's like traders didn't want to leave those there as a trap during the bull run.
It really is some autistic shit but you can use it to your advantage if you know where unfilled gaps are and can set your take-profit or stop-loss around it.

>>54121184
So your point is that the price will dump to 20.5k before resuming the trend of rapid increase in price for no fucking reason?

>> No.54121577

>>54121432
Gap fills are real. They may fill instantly, or they may fill months or even years from now, but they almost always fill.

>> No.54121618

>>54121432
It could. Or the 28.9k gap could get filled first. I can't predict it at this moment.
I did believe that the 19.9k gap would be filled before price went back up.
Traders largely agreed with me and that's why there were a shitload of buyers waiting there to jump in. It's not a coincidence that this was such strong support, even with the bank run fud.
One YouTuber who focuses mainly on stocks, was saying for weeks in January and February that BTC would retrace off of 20.5k because it was a strong support level. He doesn't pay attention to the CME chart though, so he totally missed it going lower.
However, he was right about 20.5k as that is support price jumped up from to get us to where we are now.
If he had been planning to buy at 20.5k, he would have missed a lower entry price because he didn't know about the gap below 19.9k is all.
