They're fucking with you. The bank gets sold off and the loan gets moved to that bank. You get a letter in the mail that says "make payments here" and everything continues as normal. Your money is insured so you don't lose that either.

If you bank with a systemically important bank and it goes under (1929 shit) then you lose your money AND the mortgage disappears because nobody is big enough to buy a giga-bank's assets. Eventually some fuckery occurs and the banking system slowly unfucks itself and you get a letter in the mail that says "hello, the NATIONAL UNITED STATES BANK OF MEGA CAPITALISM has inherited your mortgage and you need to start making payments again. Sorry about the whole banking collapse thing lmao"

yes, but the issue here isn't that banks are failing, but if they ALL start saying they need financing all at once then it's a problem. one bank needs funding? maybe they get rejected, maybe they get help. A bunch of stressed banks all declare emergency at the same time? well now the govt has to step in to prevent panic. Not really. The average person was still much poorer than they were in 2006. Things have progressively gotten worse since 1971, when we left the gold standard. There was no drastic rise in wages in the 2010s that made up for the 40 years of lost wage growth. It's just that people were still employed and another wave of massive inflation hadn't hit yet.

Every decade will be worse than the last for the regular Joe until a Bitcoin standard is adopted.

Just curious, on my part.
The FDIC just blew its whole budget bailing out SVB. 127.5 Billion. So, with no budget left, how are they going to pay the "little guys" with less than 250K, when they are already "broke". Yeah, money printing might slow it down, but eventually, the WORLD is going to get tired of the US version of the Zimbabwe Buck.

They're called zombie companies. That's what the banks are going to be, as in '08. Practically insolvent & then bailed out, and then unable to produce substantial profit for years.

What the market just told us is that the era of growth is over. There are no more expectations for growth. When bank stocks slide, that's it. We're going to find a bottom. Yet the Federal Reserve won't be able to save us from this one because the era of QE is also over. It will be a depression. 1929 — 2023 seems like we're about due.
