S&P 500 futures are a type of derivative contract that provides buyers with an investment price based on the expectation of the S&P 500 Index’s future value. Investors and the financial media follow them closely because they act as an indicator of market movements. S&P 500 futures allow investors to speculate on the future value of the index by buying or selling futures contracts.

As of September 2021, investors can invest in these futures by buying and selling E-mini contracts through the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) under the ticker symbol ES

This these fools don’t understand they just rolled out the plan for what they’re going to do. These bulls are ODing off copium since there entire argument was Jpow was going to break something and their case was “see look what you did! You have to cut rates or pause now!” and Jpow will use this as his excuse to keep fighting inflation since he can say they had systems in place to protect the banking system. They’re bascially saying they’ll protect the money but not the shareholders or bond holders (who just got royally fucked on SVB) no refunds!

There’s some really bad precedent being set here since they’re essentially telling the world there’s now unlimited account balance insurance and when the next thing breaks people will be screaming for the fed and treasury to fix their shit next... They’re only doing this to prevent what could’ve been a nationwide bank run tomorrow that would collapse the entire us banking system in 1 day. Bulls are stupid because they believe the fed will have to stop stomping on their balls which ain’t going to happen and everything is pointing to a higher CPI print Tuesday

the funny thing is that it is indeed a tax, printing is a tax on the bank accounts of lower middle class people who don't have assets which appreciate. it leaves poors unaffected since they have nothing in their accounts anyway, and everyone with investments just appreciates.
it's far worse than a taxpayer funded bailout for the dems base.

Had we made the right decision to let them fail, we would have been able to concentrate upcoming layoffs to useless startups. Thereby encouraging savings and quelling the demand side of things. Then, the fed could have paused and reversed rate hikes by 2024.

It is the absolute clowniest of clown propositions! You get backsies on your bonds because you'd be insolvent, b-b-b-but it's a LOAN OK?! You HAVE to pay us back in a year, o-or else! Going to buy TQQQ calls tomorrow if we're going into the clownpocalypse. Nothing matters anymore, money doesn't mean anything.

And whatever we want to call this. It's all just the same thing over and over; we can't help ourselves. And you and I can't control it, or stop it, or even slow it. Or even ever-so-slightly alter it. We just react. And we make a lot money if we get it right. And we get left by the side of the side of the road if we get it wrong. And there have always been and there always will be the same percentage of winners and losers. Happy foxes and sad sacks. Fat cats and starving dogs in this world. I don't think extending loans for these HTM securities is a bad policy; it affords more room for stress from rising interest rates without crushing liquidity.

But it does somewhat run counter to the Fed's goal of disinflation; the loans will only be partially collateralized: banks can borrow against the par value of the security rather than the market value; this is inherently inflationary.

Lets go over the basic fundamental ideal of what the concept of an economy is or more specifically the concept of currency. The famous line of saying "it's just money, it's made up" is just one part of it. The other part of it deals with how society perceives it. We are in fiat currency which means we can bend reality to how we want it. Let's say Joe is 1000 dollars in debt. Well all you need to do is just erase a couple zeros and he is only 10 dollars in debt. All you have to do is change the way society sees and accepts what is currently in front of them. If you can make them believe that the national debt is no longer an issue then it wont be an issue because we have simply wiped out those numbers and started a new floor.

Reality is what we make of it, the phrase "mind over matter" or what we now know it as "meme magic" is a lot more powerful than you might think if utilized correctly.
