>space between houses
>bare ground without heaps of garbage
>vegetation still standing
>nothing on fire or smoldering
>industry in the background
>now compare it to any slum in south america or africa

What is it with white people and being inherently functional and organized? Why can't anyone else have such naturally ingrained traits?

I can see why white people explored, conquered, and colonized the whole world while everyone else just sat in their continents and were content to kill each other. White people seem to have this natural drive to know and excel at things.

because there were basically no black or mexican people in Seattle in the 30s. It was all whites and Chinese/Japanese immigrants living in chinatown. The asians fared pretty well because they had their own micro-economy that wasn't affected much by the depression.

hard to say since they weren't usually counted in censuses or listed in directories

because they all lived in shantytowns.

I’d say Detroit, but Hoovervilles were safer and cleaner

also of course if it's an actual hooverville the residents probably weren't from seattle anyways. People traveled.

not sure if it's a hooverville though. Those shacks are pretty well built for a new and spontaneous hobo camp.

Looks like Megaton, just needs an undetonated nuke in the center of town.
