Yes I've read this one as well
It's a nonsense argument. Historical ratio does not equal current value. Scarcity doesn't equal demand. Even if the paper market collapses, they only have to pay out in fiat. You can't sue for silver and I'm certain the fine print allows for this and even if it doesn't they will jewish calvinball it anyway.
>Fud
It's not fud to call out nonsense bullshit argument and it's precious metalS(!) general. Comparing them isn't fud.
>Every time the ratio deviated in one way you could profit from playing this price ratio.
Yes, you could over a hundred years ago when there was a government fixed exchange rate. The exchange rate IS NO LONGER fixed and you pay premiums when you buy and you sell at a discount.

The shit you're posting is DEALER MARKETING PROPAGANDA because there's a BIGGER PROFIT on SELLING silver.

Since this board is for people who love to buy silver, the dealers are the FUCKING ENEMY, and you are one or working for them, probably for free!

So stop with this infomercial type boomer tier logic, delete that shit from your computer, and fucking lurk more because you're the fucking idiot!

This shows how little you know of geo-politics. China is on par to match the United States military’s navy in 2450. The only reason “global trading” can occur is because the United States Navy protects the trading lanes. Out of chinas “vast navy” only 300 of its ships can sale 1500 miles from its main shore.

If your the global power you better be able to go in and silence a country, if it steps out of line. The USA would destroy Russia and China in a month without any troop ever touching their shores. Even if every single pilot wore high heels and dressed like a faggot.

You have no idea what your talking about. “YOu don’t just become the world power”.

The demand for that is overblown. Between nearly all photography going digital and nearly all currency going to base metals we use less now than we did twenty years ago. It's antibiotic properties are also overemphasized by these salesman. Copper does nearly the same thing, and for the time being alcohol is cheap and available.

However, the real use of silver will be for black market transactions when they fully implement CBDC, so it's still worth collecting.

None of this address my actual question which is "why does an increase in gold necessitate an increase in silver?"
You imply it must return to 15:1 with misleading graphics and language, and answer in bad faith a question I didn't ask.
This is like saying I should buy your stock because I could have made money trading it recently. That's no guarantee of performance.

It's used in almost all modern tech. Copper is cheaper, if it could be replaced with copper it would be, but it can't. Mining can be ramped up, but it takes time and money to do that, which makes the price go up and, in turn, makes everything that uses it go up.

A more serious response:
You can't replace silver with copper in electronics, it doesn't have exactly the same physical properties. Copper overheats and the hardware becomes damaged until it fails.
Silver is mostly a byproduct of other metals, a copper mine won't mine 2x more copper to sell 2x more silver which represents like 5% of their income. A dedicated silver mine is profitable at a spot price of $250 or more. That's why there aren't any dedicated silver mines in the first place, because they're not profitable.

You'll never get a believable source for these numbers, and there's a huge incentive to lie about them.
It is useful and for some applications you can't replace it with copper, but these companies aren't stupid and there are firms that make their living trading futures. They know better than you and the price reflects current demand more than the fantasies of stackers and the sales pitches of dealers.

Well, it should go up in value long before that. The premise that "they" are keeping the price down and if we all but the physical silver we will bankrupt them is absurd. If they are selling the shit at this price then they not only can afford to, but they are making a profit doing so. Believing that these huge organizations are stupid and are selling a valuable and scarce resource at a loss to hide some secret is lunacy.

And that isn't even addressing the inaccurate assumption that we are buying it all up and no one is selling. People regularly sell. It's not being consumed (by collectors.) People die and their kids sell. They have financial trouble and sell. They decide they want shit and sell.

I inherited a $20 liberty coin from my father along with some wedding bands which I assume were my grandpas. I think buying gold and silver as an investment is stupid. It sits there, it doesn’t produce anything, it has very limited use, and the only way I make money is someone else buys it higher. Still I don’t think I will ever sell it. It’s very pretty and it was my fathers.

I will admit I'm not familiar with the medical field, however I am with industrial electrical. Pretty much everything has silver in it, breakers, fuses, solder, switches, pressure, flow, consistency, and temperature transmitters, they can have anywhere from a gram like in a home breaker to multiple ozs in the case of medium and high voltage fuses, like pic related which is a medium fuse, its about 17 inches in length and 3 inches in diameter for size reference.

If something is worthless, you would want to sell it as high as possible, so you manipulate the price up and then sell it, like bitcoin at $60k. This fails if nobody buys it, yet many bought it with all the "it's going to $100k" propaganda.
If something is valuable, you would want to buy it as low as possible, so you manipulate the price down and then buy it, like silver at $20. This fails if everyone else is buying it too and not selling you any of it, which is what it looks like it's happening right now with physical silver. They have to keep the appearance of silver being useless, hoping people who keep buying it will eventually give up, but it's going to be a very big problem if they just keep stacking.
We know the tricks, we'll just keep stacking it.

What you're describing is the mind fuck where they change the very concept of money. This has already been done.

The flaw in this fantasy is the part where the price of PMs suddenly skyrockets and stackers get their fwtdhwatdoqa. That part doesn't happen.
The ugly truth is that gold and bitcoin have one thing in common. They are both "greater fool" investments. Gold is pretty fucking useless outside of it's arbitrary traditional role as money. Unless you are a jeweler or electronics manufacturer in a stable economy you have no practical need of it. In a shtf situation you are better off with nearly anything.

Let me tell you the other ugly truth, the big lie about PMs.

PMs are the original slavery. When kings started collecting taxes in metals it made you beholden to the system. They are the original federal reserve notes. Before coinage, if the state wanted to tax you, they had to come to your farm and carry off a portion of your crops. It was hardly worth the bother.
But once minting coins was invented you had to sell your crops to get the silver to pay your taxes. You were now beholden to the game and it's rigged rules. You were now at the mercy of the market and distribution system.
What they did in the thirties was just another iteration. They freed themselves from the limitations of physical gold. We are now on the cusp of the next irritation, that is CBDC.

Do you understand now?

Not when it comes to industrial electrical, breaker contacts burn up and the whole breaker goes to a landfill since there is little to no silver left same thing for fuses you can't recycle what doesn't exist and when a 2300 volt fuse pops there isn't much left to recover. Some transmitters will get rebuilt, but really bad ones just get tossed, not worth the hassle to get to the silver. Now copper sure that will get recycled but thats because its easy to get to it comes in blocks like in transformers, lengths of wire or pipe. Overall though it almost all goes to a landfill because there isn't anything to recycle or it's such a small amount after an electrical failure to not be worth the effort.

Well, whatever. I'm just tired of these shitty infographics with bad logic.

As far as utility of PMs now, really is black market currency in a CBDC world. A store of value that won't go to zero is a distant second. I say distant because you pay a heavy premium for this and with a little imagination you can probably find a better use for your money.

If you combine the untraceability with the store of wealth utility then they become worth the premium, gold moreso than silver.

I'm just tired of that SETF shit and I really think dealers are shilling silver with half truths and that makes people misinformed and vulnerable to further manipulations due to sunk cost and fantastic thinking.

Anyone sane here will speak up and tell new and old alike not to put it all into PMs at this moment.
No different from any other just-in-case preparedness item really (although this stuff can't expire and need replacing). If you knew the future precisely, sure, you could put that money elsewhere with ease.
As no human knows precisely it is simply erring on the side of caution while waiting for other uses to payoff. We've got stock, mining and crypto folk around here after all (who don't FUD).

Sure we aren't changing fuses and breakers as often as you would take photos, but it's a pretty common occurrence. Most people are only familiar with how often they change fuses and breakers in their home which isn't often if ever and they will only have a dozen or so depending on how big their home is. We will change breakers and fuses multiple times a week and we have hundreds of breakers, and thousands of fuses, we have transmitters we change out every couple of weeks because of wear on thier membrane and we are one factory in a country that has tens of thousands of factories if not hundreds of thousands im nit sure were to look up the number of factories in the US. Then you add in all the actual electrical companies who will be going through the same thing. As for solder it depends what you are trying to solder as to what kind you will use. Also when silver was mainly used in film we didn't have the same dependency on everything being electronic like we do now they have flip flopped in terms of use. Pic related is a transformer that got smoked at work, I tossed it in the trash.

Well shit.

So maybe a not retarded argument would be:

They are keeping the price down with over sold paper to crash the futures market so they can hoard it all up themselves.

The only thing I know is that the Perth Mint was left having to pony up and probably refused to, leading to the US mint to delay some meme coins (remember the unfortunately worded email?)

So by buying up bullion during the "silver squeeze" the public managed to create a supply shortage (interestingly implying a price ceiling) and got spot up temporarily. I wonder, and there is no way to be certain of this either, how much of that squeeze bullion was sold at a loss since then. What do you think? How many WSS and SETF participants bailed out at a loss? Probably more than a few, I think.

I think you are probably right about alot of people selling at a loss the past couple years, mainly due to the boom with stocks and crypto, compared to those the returns on gold and silver would be a joke when looked at through the eyes of people who are used to 1000% over 24 hours. Then add in the crash from covid coupled with the massive job loss and inflation and when budgets have to tighten to make ends meat, selling your silver and gold to get the bills paid is pretty tempting.

I don't have the cash the cash to justify it but wouldn't an xrf machine be a good investment that coincides with a potential metal boom? If the metal market were to boom, there would be an equal boom in the counterfeit market, they would probably get good enough to make ping tests and close inspection obsolete. Someone with an xrf machine could make a business out of it. That being said there are alternatives like an acid test, but that's also somewhat expensive, also acid runs out. It would probably be a cheaper alternative for most to just go to the guy with the xrf machine and pay a small fee to validate their metals.

eh, pawn/jewelry shops would eat that up right away. They already have testing equipment and brick and mortar stores, they could charge such low prices for testing you probably couldn't compete. What would be the silver/gold price where that would be worth it? You might be able to get a better return just by buying 30 oz of ag. Yeah the government doesn’t back the dollar in silver or gold anymore, but that doesn’t mean the two don’t have value and trend together. I’m not on the “15:1” train, but silver always bears gold on the run up. Even after the gold standard was ended, look at every run up, silver wins by at least 2x but usually more like 5x. Gold might run up $1000 from here over the course of the next recession, but silver stands to run up $20, $30, $50 bucks.

I think bullion bars can carry "exonumismatic" or "paranumismatic" value, which falls under the numismatic umbrella. To the anon asking what to buy, I prefer poured/cast bars over extruded and pressed/minted bars because they're much more pleasing to fondle and have a more authentic old-school feel to them but they don't usually carry as much value as limited production releases. The extent of my personal experience was buying a bunch of Envela 10 ounce Covid theme bars in 2020, they were $189 each and now sell for over $300, I sold one for $395 during the surge right after Russia started dabbling in Ukraine.

Yeah thankfully I stumbled across them while hunting for deals on eBay, I think they were only retailed on eBay at first. I bought one of the 1oz April rounds but they're low relief, you might be thinking of the ultra high relief 2oz rounds, I really need to get one for the collection they're awesome.

We’re eating way too much McD’s and smoking way too many American Spirits but we’ve been stuck in a house that is only a house because it has four walls, a floor, and a roof. Takes the boredom away amid this cold Spring while hearing the crews work on the new siding and exterior insulation.

God bless the wives who understand the need to stack. However, I know that any more purchases before next month are just bored retail therapy and aren’t the best use of my funds.

Pray for me, frens. I think three more months and this house will be completely refurbished. Until than I’m content with my 1$FV junk and single maple coming in today.

Big Bob once told me that my scrapping and stacking cheapies was the most potent silver FUD in /pmg/, kek. I love silver more than anyone I know but that doesn't mean I'm willing to pay premiums and help make dealers rich in my pursuit of it, with just a few exceptions for specific items I intend to keep all the gains for myself.

If you have access to your kitchen during the work I recommend learning to make bread and roast beef. I've been living off no need open crumb bread and I found a great method for cooking value cuts of meat in under two hours with minimal handling. I don't want to get too off topic, but I'm getting 8 steak sandwiches for under $20. It helps to stalk the grocery store and stack top rounds, tri tips, and beef skotch cuts when they got them BOGO free.

I guess what I'm saying is, stack flour, brick cheese, and tender cuts of beef.

>Up due to inflation
This hasn't been the case for two years. The traditional thinking has been that gold is the opposite of bond yields. That is too say, the rich will put their money in bonds when yields are high, and in gold when yields are poor. This also hasn't been the case for two years.
Silver is a special case. Because it is used for small things the trading of it is considered a nuisance by the powers that be. Speculating on silver is (before 1964) the equivalent of pulling coins out of circulation and causing a shortage of change to inconvenience commerce. They really want you to forget that it has any value. Since the debasement of coinage this applies more to industry than government, but the feeling is the same. They don't want price fluctuations, even though this is a natural consequence of the use of a finite resource.
Throw in human greed, corrupt governments, bad actors, and clever speculators and you get the clown rodeo that is the precious metals market.

Buy a little off it makes sense to you. Participate in this as ahobby. Don't count on anything, and enjoy the ride.

I want you to take a long, hard, think about what you just said. How much of your knowledge is direct experience and how much is taking someone's word for it?

What's worse, how much of your limited apprehension of reality is based on media stimulating a situation? How much of your thoughts and experience of human interaction and the world you live in is based on television, movies, books, she video games?
And of the portion that's left, how much is textbooks, (((news journos))), the word of some bullshit "educator", or shit an older family member told you that he got from the shit I've already mentioned?

Think about it. Most of your life is sleeping, commuting, sitting at your job in one place (probably), and staring at a screen.

How much have you done and seen first hand? What the fuck do you really know?

The bigger the better, generally. I like the 2.5 g for a couple of reasons: affordable as I mentioned, big enough to actually see them, and big enough that any future sell will involve enough fiat to make the transaction worth the effort.

I get your point, anon. I think my weird context is what has me dancing between fractionals. Once my house I built I’m immediately buying 4 oz of gold outright to reach 5:500 but this penny-pinching downtime has me stuck with option paralysis. The 2.5 gram bars are very clean but there are some heavy premiums attached. 1/4 oz is about as small as you can get without suffering extreme premiums but that would be something I would buy every two months along with 10 oz of silver rather than once a month like a 1/10th or 2.5 gram.
