The other problem is that win rate is not 50/50 and is not value bounded in either direction.
Another problem is that to ensure you don't lose 16 times in a row, you need at least x * 2^16 = 65536*x with x the entry cost. Your average win will be what, 1/2x? So if you're putting $10 down, you have to prepare over 650k to survive a 16 move downturn and yet you make, on average, $5 per play, which really only applies in the limit of infinite time.

1

2
>A corporation that will not be made but has alphabetical letters in it who did not release their LLMs to the public probably have a black box strong ANI or proto-AGI that is directing them how to destroy all start up tech companies to keep the balance of the big dogs and eventually cement their own dominance in tech

However, I think Gerry is full of shit. Like another anon said, he was selling that shit too hard. There was no crying, but Jary said some weird hyperbolic shit that even had the bear in me going “C’mon dude.”

They do realize even if the Fed Pivots it won't save other banks from collapse nor will it bring an end to QT. The Big Jews could give a shit less if they collapse the whole system to save their global currency. People do realize Leahman Brothers was the 5th biggest bank on Wall Street in 08 and the Fed let them collapse.

Feds can't do the same play as in 08 because they didn't stop the play since then. Also people remember 08 now. They will act and they'll act fast. If they don't shore up confidence in the banking system, there will be a national bankrun.

Microsoft is probably a pretty decent long term hold. No one knows when the markets will bottom. You can buy a little of it at any time and just keep adding to your holdings over the long term. If you learn to follow the curve charts you might pick up on times to add into it on relative dips rather than relative peaks. If you learn to watch the daily levels of the S&P 500 you might can get some sense of when you want to enter and buy some VOO which is an ETF that scales to the entire S&P 500, then just keep adding to it just like I said about Microsoft. Use brokerage research tools to look at the details of stocks you are interested in and see what senses you might get of them. You might find some that you like even better. This is all almost pure gambling, but good research can increase your odds of, but never guarantee, success.

That's fine, but if you're looking to learn hedging strategies it'd be better to ask someone who hedges.
A covered call is functionally equivalent to a short put. There is zero downside protection. In fact, you're the one selling the downside protection.

You can make money selling puts against a declining asset as long as the premiums exceed the rate of decline, but the risk you're taking is that the decline accelerates. It's not a hedge.

Say you keep 1 million dollars at Baggie Federal. 1 days Baggie Federal collapses due to "unforeseen" occurrences. You don't get your $1 million back you get $250,000 netting a 75% lose.

Now the FDIC might make a "plan" to get all your money back but there is no gurantee they will meaning while they are thinking lol of a plan you are sitting at a $750,000 lose. Now say you had $10 million at Baggie Federal. You lost $9.75 million leaving you with only $250,000.

See how this can be a problem how is the FDIC supposed to figure out how to get that money back to both people. Now extrapolate that to 97.3% of all customers. Numbering in the hundreds.

Realistically, there will be some kind of special provision or insurance plan to save these deposits. They do not want to see contagion or panic as a result.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU1g7ZUQkWI

But this business just goes to show the point I've been saying for a bit: this pace of hikes and level, with the amount of debt in the system, is way overdoing it. Fed funds does NOT need to hit CPI to crush inflation and the economy as a whole when debt (public and private) is this high. And if that weren't enough, they are also embarking on the most aggressive M2 withdrawal since the great depression, the effects of which are almost by definition deflationary. If this continues you WILL see negative YOY CPI prints, hard as it may be to believe.

They're overdoing it, and now we're starting to collide with reality, which is that these level of rates and QT is not sustainable. I'm not sure about stocks, maybe they rally cause they think the rate hike hell is over, maybe if bonds rally they pull stocks up. IDK.

I do know that the short-end treasuries is lookin real fucking good rn.

https://www.borntosell.com/covered-call-blog/naked-put

I can summarize:
>covered call receives premium in exchange for capped upside on their shares, while taking on full downside risk
>short put collects a premium in exchange for capped upside being the value of that premium, while taking on full downside risk
They are the same - with a few exceptions like dividends vs cash balance interest as that article details.

Neither is a hedge.

You'd be really stupid to be heavy into 3x bull right now when we had no bottom indication yet. Even hedged you should still have a very small position in there at most.
3x leveraged split and rsplit all the time. In times of bad vola, you can have 3-4 "flipflop" events like these in just weeks.
Splits and rsplits on these also don't work the same as they do on individual stocks, because it does not indicate that a company is unable to stay attractive to investors (since it tracks a basket in the first place).
A 30:1 rsplit on soxl would be very bullish for AUM, not bearish.

Most people here are rather poor, so they want to be in a stock before it becomes hot and jumps to the stratosphere. Because of that, they look at guidance more than current financials. Unfortunately, guidance, especially for those small companies, is always bullshit.

They're not usually better than banks. Their rates on everything (loans, mortgages, etc.) suck ass, and you're on the hook if they go under. Moreover, in my area, not a single credit union has any service (e.g. you can't call to check a charge, you can't even go to the counter to make a change to an account, there's nothing nowhere ever). While mine tend to be 10x scummier than the worst bank around, it's the exact opposite in other places.
