I’ve been trying to get a $70k - $100k+ job in cyber security and I keep failing the fucking interviews for some reason. I have a degree and many security and IT certs, and lie about my experience on applications, but it doesn’t seem to matter. If I answer even one question wrong in the technical questions portion of the interview, they reject me.

Anyone in IT here? Why the fuck are these assholes so fucking picky? Are they just hiring blacks and women?

This is a case by case basis, but in my experience I told the truth that I didn't know and they rejected me, I just lied from then on and got more successes.

Well, if you're leading with insincerity that's not a good start. Interviewers want to know you have the bare minimum for the job and you can be an asset. But if you come off as insincere (you're not acting yourself) or you're lying, you won't get hired. Interviewer needs to like you first, if they like you and you pass the technical expectation, they'll give you a job.
