Maybe. But they arent cutting rates until inflation is at 2% for a minimum of a year. Its political suicide to cut rates while inflation is still around. GTLS has been holding strong, I bought it Monday and it's been toying with +5% mostly since.

I'm hoping to recoup the a little over $30 lost to the stupid Tesla Investor Day play I rolled on. All of this is excellent learning experience thus far.

The reit index is less than 14% residential pic related. The biggest movers have been industrial, cell towers, and self storage even though commercial remains strong and then you have reits that are literally farming (gladstone) or lumber and mining

Also reits got fucked hard during the financial crisis and ever since then have made it their point to have fixed income debt and debt that averages out 9 years. So shocking enough despite the spiking interest rate killing real estate, REITs themselves are doing perfectly fine. Their fundamentals are doing phenomenal

we're in a crabbing pattern because of the 0dte SPY options situation. contrary to popular belief, it's not retail doing it all. 95% of the 0dte volume is from institutions seeking to hedge out single-day event risk, such as a JPow speech or an important economic release like CPI or jobs numbers

anyone calling for a bullish or bearish movement does not understand the mechanics of how this works:
>hedge funds sell calls to market makers hedge risk = market goes up some
>market makers must delta hedge the calls they just bought from hedge funds to remain neutral so they sell futures in a delta-adjusted ratio = market goes down some

hedge funds profit the premium from the calls they sold which will expire worthless 855 of the time, and market makers profit the transaction fees while remaining neutral. speculators to the upside and downside lose most of the time. rinse and repeat and SPY stays between 395 - 405 roughly

bulls lose, bears lose, neutral funds make money.

Semis are a big and growing market, nvidia is eating up market share in the datacenter business. Nvidia and AMD both stand to outcompete intel. As far as i know, nvidia is doing a better job on backend work, and developing ai technology. CHIPS is a minor help, but the real reason nvidia is doing well, is because everyone is acutely aware of how necessary semis are now, and how the world is hungry to ramp up production for more ai technology, and they view this downtrend in the market as only a price mismatch on a broader trend of global hunger for more sophisticated and powerful semiconductor products.

Semis are projected to do well, and nvidia is a well known, trusted asset, that takes up significant market share in the sector. You can model discounted cash flows to make the price appear quite plausible. and more than that, intel is very clearly dying. It will not survive the oncoming recession, that's a big opportunity for nvidia to steal even more of the rapidly growing market. The only downside to holding nvidia is that we have high inflation right now and might cause a recession. But the business prospects outside of that intermediate event are positive.

There are a lot of variables, but in layman terms:

Imagine that you're playing a RTS where you're in charge of managing a country. You usually have a couple of resources such as minerals and vespene gas. Obviously those don't exist, but in reality we've got some basic resources such as oil, coal, natural gas, metals, semiconductors, and some services such as operating systems, etc. All of these are vital resources in this day and age.
Any company which produce or work with these resources and provide a VITAL contribution to the overall function of a nation could be considered value. Tiktok or glow in the dark stickers are not crucial - in fact one could argue that they are a net negative. They survive in a low rate environment because they have an easy time to borrow money to keep going.
NVDA is crucial in that GPU's are used everywhere, from home computers to AI. Even modern day tanks use commercial GPU's in their computing.

Just make an excel spreadsheet, and read their tax returns, hell, you can copy most of it off yahoo finance if you're lazy enough and then try to guess what the costs and revenues will eventually look like, and use the discounted cash flow function on the future revenue. The current equity risk premium should be 5.94 if you live in the USA

Feel free to google estimated market valuations of semiconductors in 2030. To determine market share, just compare the different revenues of the respective businesses on a timeline chart (make sure that you only include revenue form semiconductor related sales). You'll see that intc keeps losing market share to nvidia and amd. whether the discounted cash flows add up to the market price is up to your ability to forecast costs and revenues. Which is actually really fucking hard. A lot of times people just copy another analyst's estimates. But it's really easy to tweak most discounted cash flows to make it say the number you want. whether it's actually smart is another point entirely, but this is the mindset of someone buying nvidia. They see a bigger fucking market 7 years from now, and they see the market dominant company is about to keel over, and all nvidia has to do is handle the recession like everyone else, and avoid losing to amd. Don't forget: the market is fucking stupid, especially when scary stuff like this happens and a lot of traders are new.

Got in the market pre covid with $230K, now I have around ~$310k, sold everything when i heard the news about the war.
Right now playing with apple in small amounts, usually buy it when it's down to $140 levels and sell it from $150.

What is the next play? I'm itchy to get back in it. I was expecting a huge collapse but it didn't happen yet. Will it happen? I was thinking about finding some dividend stocks and park my money there, any suggestions?
