I recently inherited $230,000. What are some safe investments I can do to protect it against inflation?

I'm not looking into anything risky to make money right now, I just do not want what my father left me going down the drain.

Can't protect it from inflation without risk.

But 4% apr CD ain't bad. 8k a year extra in your pocket decent defense against le inflation.

Powell is gonna nuke the markets anyway. Stay liquid and buy blue chips when he does

Are you in the US? If so, open a Treasury Direct account with the Treasury and buy Gov debt directly without fees. Getting > 5% for a 3 month or 6 month T-Bill. Buy everything out to 2 years and reinvest what you get. It will grow solidly and risk free.

Why denote in $ when you have a perfectly good € key? Would make the thread a lot clearer. If you think the euro is stable, you can look into EU bonds. Personally I would convert it as quickly into USD as possible, you're on a sinking ship.
