If they need to buy shares that are limited, they need to then buy YOUR shares to deliver them to the next man, there in lies the dilemma for them. Not enough shares on the market to deliver the dividend which would mean they must start buying real shares off you and me at moass prices to close their naked positions. Each time gamestop gets a % of each sale, which if shares are going for thousands of dollars you can imagine how much money they would take in from this kind of action.
