OP the most I've ever had in my life was 40k in 2021 ATH before the crash I couldn't justify spending anything so I held it down.
I guess spending 40k on a hobby is better than letting in drain away but then again if I was staring at action figures all day I definitely would have blown my brains out.

Outside of buying/maintaining vehicles, I struggle to think of a traditional hobby that would cost $40k/yr. Even traditional yuppie shit like Polo is maybe $20k/yr for housing/training the horses and club memberships.
