Why is gold so prevalent in quartz vains?

>> No.53938379

>>53938327
quartz is the solid form of a brine solution that upwells from below the crust / inbetween plates. At those depths, metals are dissolved in this brine solution, when ever a fault opens up, especially around magma plumes upwelling into higher layers of the crust, it shoots into these fractures and fissures often instantly solidifying into rock. During the infill process, temperatures and pressures crash, allowing metals to drop out of solution and form on the contact of the vein and host rock, or intrude into the host rock if its porous enough. This can happen hundreds of times on the same fault, allowing massive enriched veins to form. If the vein comes close to the surface, and is interacting with warm waters, metals can be redissolved from the vein and reform hyper enriched halos deeper down.

thats just the super simplified way to think about how these veins form. The "fluid" coming up the faults isnt really liquid, its stuck between liquid and gas due to the pressures. We also dont understand how the metals dissolve into solution in nature at depth or on surface, the process seems to happen in many different ways. A good example are gold nuggets that "grow" in the red deserts of Australia. Gold nuggets found in western Aus are spongy and very light for their size, its speculated that gold particles migrate through the ground to larger nodes of the same metal, and "grow" off this as a base. It can also happen in streams, depending on the Ph of the local water system gold in solution can drop out and grow sharp crystals in sediments.

If you look at Venezuela niggas were breaking off grains of gold to buy shit when their currency became toilet paper. I think the actual reality in the western context is that gold and silver will see a continuous growth as economic conditions get slowly shittier. If we see full blown Weimar inflation PMs will blow up but a lot of poor fucks will be stuck sucking duck for weinerschnitzel rather than taking the time to stack.

Long and short is: buy PMs but make sure you’re in a position where lots of rainy days don’t force you to cash in your stack for a fresh pair of knee pads.

Land, a massive store of food, guns, AND PMs are the secret path to the master race where goblins are lining up to get creampied.

All of this seems logical, predictable and inevitable to those with an awareness of history and the eyes to see the present.
However, history also shows the limitless evil of govt and big banksters through these cycles.
Namely, I would fully expect the govt to repeat declaring pms illegal for common peasants to posess and would demand civil forfeiture of all privately held pms. Together with making it illegal to be bought or sold outside govt or big bankster operations
Not to fud. But I have concerns.

You’re completely right. However, if there is a slow burn of the average pleb being degraded until they are in the pods eating bugs there will be a slow rise in PMs as those capable of holding onto such assets such as banks, the upper class, and the schizos on here who are stashing beans, bullets, and bullion will see gains as those who can afford to fight inflation place their fiat into hard assets.

The other side of the coin is an outright confiscation of metals and the only answer to that is you will see me on the news blowing away feds in Minecraft for trying to steal muh metals.

The Jews will try and bleed you dry, fren. Self sufficiency is key in the coming decades. Moonshiners I’m West Virginia will see the greatest freedoms while your average upper class yuppie is getting put into gulags.

The best deals are to buy in bulk. Look for 250-count boxes of 39mm and/or 40.6mm capsules. I find them on ebay for $70.
Also, Amazon has these (pic related). I don't know for qaulity, but since these are going away it shouldn't much matter (to you anyway).

I probably differ in opinion on what to buy. My primary preference is for currently minted (or at least commonly in-stock) coins that change patterns from year to year. My hope/belief is that they are links in series and collectors who want to complete series in the future (when they are *not* in dealerships) will be willing to pay more. Like

Silver is a shitcoin to use a crypto analogy

Silver is for troons, notice all the doll posters have a mountain of silver and own 1 full ounce of gold.

Silver is called junk silver for a reason, its junk.

Silver is sold way way above spot and rebought way below spot.

Silver is for poor people that cant afford gold

Silver is for dumb people because the premiums are higher than fractional gold.

Silver takes up too much space, imagine carrying 60k in silver vs 60k in a gold kilo.

Silver is only sought investment wise by westerners, no one in Africa, or the 3rd world is looking at silver, it looks too similar to other cheap metals like aluminum, steel, etc from a distance, they dont even care about platinum..

If you stack silver youre a poor fag or a doll troon.

Case closed.

I was only 69 years old. I loved Red Rabbit so much, I downloaded all the videos and memes. I'd pray to Red Rabbit every night before I go to bed, thanking for the honor I've been given. Red Rabbit is love, I would say, Red Rabbit is life. My mom’s boyfriend hears me and calls me a neet. I knew he was just jealous for my devotion of Red Rabbit. I called him a nocarroter. He slaps me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel something touch me. It's Red Rabbit. I'm so happy. He whispers in my ear, Think Bigger. He grabs me with his powerful dev hands, and puts me on my hands and knees. I open my metamask wallet for Red Rabbit. He inputs the RR contract and tells me to sell my Chainlink (TICKER: LINK). It hurts so much, but I do it for Red Rabbit. I can see the green line go up as my eyes start to water. I push the button and sell the rest of my link from other wallets. I want to please Red Rabbit. He roars a mighty roar, as he fills my portfolio with his love. My mom’s boyfriend walks in. Red Rabbit looks him straight in the eye, and says, Red Rabbit Keeps Pumping. Red Rabbit leaves through my window. Red Rabbit is love. Red Rabbit is life.

Out of curiosity, i checked the prices of sterling silverware i recently acquired on ebay, but new and sold by the silversmith.
I expected it to be x2 spot or something like that... i was far from expecting those prices.

It's almost x10 spot lol. I checked 2 others tableware silversmiths and prices were in the same range. That's fucking insane the margin they make!
To think i'm buying the exact same items but already used on ebay for less than spot price.. I bought the same spoon in my pic for 35 bux last month ffs!
Bros, definitely NEVER consider buying new silverware and think it will be worth anything more than melt value. Unless you have some kind of antique or special pieces, it might be the worst store of value ever, and definitely a horrible heirloom long-term appreciation wise.
Only buy secondhand silverware if you wanna acquire some.

Holy fuck..

Not that i'm aware of. It's Christofle, a reputed silverware maker but nothing too fancy, a big chunk of the ebay offers from the 60s onward you can find are from them in France, maybe 50%. It's mass produced stuff..
I already loved picking up silverware on ebay ever since scrapfren initiated me to the art, but now i feel like i'm scamming the sellers kek.

>I just want some to eat with so I can eat like a chad. Want a silver goblet too but the prices are crazy.
That's what i do too. Silver goblet, silver fork, silver spoon at every meal. Feel like royalty at each bite.
But what do you mean with crazy prices for goblets? The ones i found were in part with other silver items. The only exceptions were for very old goblets (250+ yo), who i noticed fetch a big premium - like x2 spot - IF they are in good condition (no big bonks on the surface).

So the ones I've seen have been like well over £350 (€400ish) for a pint size one. Plus they're usually not in my country and ebay wants to scam me even further by adding VAT (or maybe it's import tax) which I think isn't legal for second hand metals. Bidding on some silver spoons that end in an hour. Well I'll wait until theres a few mins left then bid I guess.

Guess if you know what you’re doing, got a lot of time and a very high tolerance for second hand smoke (or if you’re into pewter or brass scrapping) you might find something good, but apart from 1 obviously silver pope thingy (but those tend to be plated generally) and some Iraqi (?) 1971 coin that had some patina that might have indicated some silver content, I saw nothing worth a closer look. Didn’t expect much anyways and I needed the exercise, so it’s all good.
Guess I’ll stick to panning.

OOF.. that's maybe because of the size you are looking for? Personally the goblets i got are the size of a normal glass, so 25cl approx.
But 400 bux still seems incredibly high...

>or maybe it's import tax
Can confirm. It works both way. It's just some retarded tax wars between Bongland and EU politikikes. Some kind of globohomo revenge for the Brexit. And it's confusing because it's the same amount as the VAT. So you pay VAT, then VAT again. Then the postal services feasting on you, charging you with all kind of "procedure fees" and "custom charges" who are themselves taxed, and you can't get around those either. Their job is exactly the same from before the brexit, but they will steal another 10 bux from you. Fucking mailkikes. I have a smol business online, and i had to stop importing stuff from UK too.. I believe if it's below 10 bux of value it's not taxed tho. 10 bux...
As always it's the little ppl who pay for the dick contests of politician trannies who try to justify their salary by making our lives literal hell on earth. And then every parasite down the way taking their pound of flesh. Postal services being public institutions and acting like thieves really is the last nail in the coffin.

Pro tip:
If you stack for your heirs you gotta tell them where it is! I know where my parents have their stack hidden and they knew where their parents had theirs.
Well mostly…
>grandpa passed away
>everything was done in order, he also made sure during his lifetime that most stuff gets passed on in a tax efficient way
>clean out the basement
>ewww, what is that shitty duffel bag?
>you know, those first gen 70s plastic with brittle exterior because the softeners gassed out and sticky inside because of the PU coating “melting”
>wait, why’s that thing so heavy?
>so we held our breaths and investigated
>turns out there was about 10k in silver and gold in it
Grandpa 2 only stacked like 1k in silver in a fake electrical cabinet that we did t know about. Luckily we knew the real cabinet so finding a second one in some corner of the basement raised suspicion and we had a look into it.

so here's how I planned for this. I have some shit hidden away. You know gmail has a feature where if you don't sign in for 3 or 6 months it will assume you're dead. You can designate some email addresses that it will unlock for. So i've written a message to my wife and kids explaining where the monies are, passwords for things (one time codes for 2FA etc) and where my crypto is and how to access it. I'm extremely unlikely to not log into gmail unless i'm dead or in prison or something. I've listed all my one time codes, and how to access my bitwarden/crypto wallets etc and locations of buried treasure. Seems like a good plan to me.

Silver and gold are not an inflation hedge as we've all seen now, they are in fact, useless barbaric relic.

Gold and silver are fucking worthless. They have literally dumped 90% since last year and won't stop any time soon. The thing about silver is that there's more than 100x as much in the ground as there is gold (which is also worthless), and its "industrial uses" are massively overrated because copper outclasses it for any conceivable use.

>So the ones I've seen have been like well over £350 (€400ish) for a pint size one. Plus they're usually not in my country and ebay wants to scam me even further by adding VAT

Are you talking about a giant stemmed goblet or a 1 pint sterling tankard or mug? I don't remember seeing any huge silver chalices except maybe for antique gilded ones from defunct Catholic or Orthodox churches. Once in my early days of scrapping I saw a hallmarked Georgian English goblet made in 1787, wonderfully decorated and not bespoke/monogrammed either. They were asking $125 Buy-It-Now but sadly I didn't immediately understand what a good deal it was, after researching for 10 minutes I decided to buy it but someone else had snapped it up by then. I have some nice but more modern goblets now and this "pint" beer mug with a capacity I measured at 18 fluid ounces that cost just under $18/ozt asw which was a fair price but I still think about and regret not gobbling up that cheapie old goblet. Anyway I'd recommend patience, don't FOMO into something at retail price, instead just wait for a shitty auction format listing, maybe where they neglect to include "sterling" in the title but show the hallmarks in the pics, and try to get it at closer to melt value. The wait may test your patience but I promise you that good deals get posted somewhat regularly. Also what kind of spoons did you get? Proper ~15cm teaspoons or were they babby demitasse spoons?

>>53943184
>but now i feel like i'm scamming the sellers kek.

Alright it sounds like you are approaching things properly. If you don't already, try searching "silver mug" (tankard, cup, goblet, etc), auction format only and sorted most recently listed first in all categories, not just the "sterling silver" subcategory. Searching "sterling" whatever in titles is easy and obvious so you'll have tons of competition, figuring out what other search terms or strategies efficiently hit on "sleeper" silver is how to vacuum up the cheapies. The listings that are fresh show up at the top and ones that are overpriced and keep getting automatically relisted show up lower down so depending on the total number of results often only the first page is worth looking at when you run your weekly search, if you keep it up a while you'll get a good sense for which subcategories hold poorly listed sleepers and you can search through those subcategories more attentively.
>The ones that sell mainly silver items know they can charge a premium and charge well over melt.
Yep, here they have a pretty recognizable background and listing style so I just scroll right past all their overpriced shit while scanning for promising deals. Don't give the pros a second of your attention, you want listings posted by noob sellers with no established customer base and unprofessional pictures, titles and descriptions. As a general rule, excellent pics mean shit deals and shit pics mean excellent deals so i instinctively gravitate toward the latter when scanning search results. It'll take time to build up your instincts and heuristics but once you have figured things out it takes very little time to stay on top of things.

Hell yeah very nice, we never found any intact ones but my dad bought a stunning 6.5" meg tooth back in the 90s, they've proven to be excellent investments. Here are a few of my personally found fossil corals including 5 halysites specimens, it depends on the matrix stone but the contrast on some is extraordinary, they're worth a decent bit for a rock as-is and would be truly stunning and more valuable cabbed and polished but I love the natural glacially-rounded look of them. When walking creekbeds and scanning thousands of rocks for patterns the chain corals really jump out and smack ya in the face, it's pretty thrilling to find them in the wild.

The teeth are genuine and it looks really cool, but there is a deeply entrenched cottage industry in Morocco where they construct more complex composites like jaws or attach fossils found separately to matrix rock in more visually interesting arrangements to sell wholesale to rock shops abroad, you can find lots of discussion on Moroccan composites searching online.

yep, quartz is super abundant in the earths crust, but the primary reason it hosts gold so often as well as other minerals is its ability to dissolve metals and minerals while in a super fluid state. Quartz acts as the perfect transport for metals in solution. Water will do the job too, especially at great pressures found around plate boundaries, where VMS deposits are often founded.

no unfortunately, but the lead Geo for Seabridge Gold had a massive boulder found at Valley of the Kings, what later became the famous Brucejack Mine slabbed into several pieces by the guys at Jade City, one was used as a promotional piece, and the other was used as a desk top. I ll go bug one of my old manager friends from Seabridge and see if hes got any photos, it was an incredible piece of material.
>>53945322
exactly right! The supercritical fluid, rich in metals, most commonly on the fringes of volcanic magma chambers shoots into any fault or fissure that opens, injecting the metals rich material into the rock and quickly hardening into new rock. This can happen over and over again on the same fault, creating veins 60m wide like what you see at Bonanza Ledge in the Cariboo district or the Motherlode deposits of California.
>>53945261
here's a leaf fossil from Driftwood, this outcrop was once the shore of an ancient lake. The main fossil bed however was the deep, calm lake bottom, which slowly filled with volcanic ash over 3 centuries, entombing fish, bugs, and even birds.

All sorts of stuff would pop out of the sand stone, including fish fossils and a few bits of mammoth tusk too. to be honest we have very little idea how those veins formed. Native copper banding like what you see along lake Superior and Michigan are extremely rare in nature, the same goes for native silver too. These elements like to form bonded with other metals / minerals. I can do some research if your interested in how these areas formed, its fascinating to me as well.

I don’t see where to safely divert funds from silver and gold into platinum. Anons have written pretty solid theories on platinum growing but I go off the mindset that:

>gold will continuously rise
>silver will maybe see a squeeze and may slowly rise with gold or will continue to be shorted
>platinum may crab for eternity or see major spikes or a gold-like slow climb

But when it comes to stacking it I guess what I’d do is make some kind of ratio similar to 1:100. 1:1:100 is pretty simple and platinum is half the cost of gold so entry price isn’t terrible. The only thing I fear is any money placed into platinum is money not allocated to gold. I’d hate to see gold climb, silver spike, and platinum continue to crab.

the issue is that 90% of the jobs are in geotech/environmental, which are geology adjacent at best. they hide this fact from bright eyed undergrads and push the idea that geo is only looking at cool volcanos, mapping interesting formations, and identifying minerals/faults. they do this to keep the numbers up in the geo programs (which are usually struggling) because if they were honest about job prospects everyone would quit.

>were surrounded by bugs and you cant see your own hands
>joe found a gold nugget in that random creek! too bad its outside the project boundary!

Its fun work and great money, especially when you find yourself working for a well funded junior project, but its hard work too, its back breaking. If you cant handle hunkering down between some scrubby spruce trees during a random thunderstorm on top of a mountain, dont go into it. Camp life is what gets most people now though, 2 weeks in 2 out is easy for me, but it can drive some people mad, especially winter.

Quartz has some very important uses though, a number of high grade quartz ore bodies which aree very pure silicon dioxide, are being planned to be mined for solar panel production, as well as for use in semi conductor manufacturing. >All I know is weird crystal women like my wife like them because they’re pretty.
For those kind of crystals, that's probably good enough (+ you can ascribe all kinds of esoteric stuff to them). They really can look nice and they're not that rare, as you can see. That mine >>53947490 just threw away truckloads of them by the hour that would have fetched a shitload of money when properly cleaned, sorted and put into the right shop, but compared to their main business, that just wasn't worth it.
Guess if this mine (and many others like it) would decide to pivot to quartz, it would be the fancy crystal version of

>That boulder is extraordinary, is it some sort of banded iron/jasper?
It's just some ordinary mudstone/shale, with different conditions during deposition. Green is oxygen free and thus Fe3+ and red is oxygenated seabed and thus Fe2+. Or the other way round, was long ago. And the polishing was just the sea.

I should have mentioned ... it was in a crack/bowl amongst this rock wall.
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.6382517,-90.4695585,78m
There were a lot of much smaller fossils, too -little curls, like snail shells maybe half-inch in diameter or less. I didn't keep any of those.
I haven't been back in years, don't expect I ever will.

What do you even gain from this shit? Do you just randomly search for generals close to or at 300 posts and jump to the rescue? Are that
>I manage 10 generals on other boards
fag? If so: KYS. Otherwise: KYS too
c) a bake already was announced >>53947592 and would have done when ready. But I just knew it. Some attenionwhore reddit fuckhead would just jump in.
Oh well, I'm off, I have no interest in playing with the shortbus kids.

Niue coins in the "Icons of Inspiration" series that Apmex says is exclusive to them. I have no reason to doubt that, as I can't find them anywhere else. So far they've done Galileo, Newton, Einstein, and da Vinci. These are Curie and the Wright bros (my wife claims distant relationship to the bros)

>No one views you as a woman, not even yourself.
If you viewed yourself as a real woman, you would tell me that you are indeed a real woman again and again and again until I fucking snap and bash your face with a shovel Verdun style at the sight of your starved skeletal structure and adam's apple.
But no, you are "Trans". Even you yourself do not view yourself as a woman, you view yourself for what you are, a man who has taken the form and identity of a woman, and this is what you celebrate yourself as.
And when I see you for what you are, a man who dresses as a woman, you get angry, you keep repeating I'M TRANS, in the hopes that I will like you for having a penis or lack thereof or that you have a ghost dick and saying you are a woman, but I am not gay and therefore do not want dick.
You live a consequential existence I want no part of. You hate and despise the male form, yet you do everything to gaslight me into thinking you are everything you once wanted.
Incel? The only one here is you buddy. You have stolen everything sovereign and precious to women and replaced it with "fetish for a man who dresses as one" because you could never get the girl.
Cope.
