I and a few other anons stack Pewter because it can be found cheap and is scarce enough to be worth the space in my workshop. Tin price is $28/kg right now and is produced at 12x the rate of Silver and just 1/50th the rate of Copper. It is indispensable in tech and industry, mines are getting depleted and often an ecological clusterfuck, and it's the focus of resource nationalism which will likely squeeze supply/availability and help push prices considerably higher over the next decade. I'd stack platinum too if I knew how to find it cheap.

Pewter bought cheap then melted and poured into ingots can be sold profitably to hobbyists online who cast toy soldiers, figurines and other artsy stuff. I could probably make a mint casting and selling pewter "brass" knuckles but I haven't poured any yet. The melting point is only around 450F so it's really easy and safe to work with. There are some pewter scrap buyers but last I checked they don't pay that much, though if a global supply crunch hits and prices moon I am confident that specialized scrapyards and refineries will pop up and pay competitive prices. The purity of the tin in more modern pewter is between 92-97% with the remainder being Antimony and Copper so it's a pretty darn good source of the metal, similar to Sterling as a source for Silver.

You need to know hallmarks and understand the different plating methods and marks etc. If something is stamped sterling I have not seen anything actually sell for less than spot. The other two are still up after not selling. Likely because the seller has no feedback. I can’t find the coins via search for some reason so had to have someone share the link.
