Usually around £24 atm but when it goes up on the website is random and it sells within 30minutes . You pay a premium for the encapsulated metals. Personally I don't bother with them unless from an extremely reputable place. To me, metal is metal. If it passes a ping test and a magnet test for silver then whatever. But if you're going all in on encapsulated metals probably best not to remove them from the capsule. Plus it keeps it in minty condition I guess.

It's a little tempting to take it on out but as far as I know I can't put it back good as 'new' if I do. Not into the card assembly at least, but I don't mind it as much in this particular case.
Later that year the RCM put out pic related which is more obviously designed to allow someone to take the capsule and coin out and then put it back in like nothing ever happened.

Thing is, the plastic on several of my cards are scratched, and I can't really enjoy the buggers - see them - and get the full glow.
So basically I'm denying myself the enjoyment of admiring the metal and workmanship for the sake of selling it so someone else can have the option, in exchange for a speculative amount of profit from a subjective numismatic value.
>>53902383
That is a clever way to package it for exactly what I'd want - to rarely view it, then store safely.

But sealed away... I'm not a museum.

Ultimately I guess I need to have a hard figure on what the difference in sales value it really would be, and that's not a tangible number and won't be until I'm ready to sell. And if I heir it, it won't matter (to me).

I'm thinking of cutting them out.

Yeah, it depends on what makes you happier. In the first place most of these grab me from promo images, which don't match up to their in-person look often time. Then I see them in-person and like them even more. So I don't feel the need to take them out of the capsule, but I probably will with the polar bear.
If I can find some evidence of being able to take the gold maple out and put it back in fine, I'll go for it. I'm fond of the green and gold so it would make me sad to ruin the presentation if I can't actually get the capsule back in the card neatly.
And then there's the fairly easy ability to just buy another of each since it's not like I'm done there. Despite the fact that each will likely only be produced for the 2022 year I don't expect them to raise in price a ton of the usual silver/gold maple.

From a melt perspective, if you made a profit, sure.
But if there's some uber happening and SHTF wouldn't it be better to hold Eagles than old coins people have never seen before? LIke I get that there's a premium, but as long as money is printed silver's on discount, so perhaps there is a premium for eagles in any scenario. I guarantee you that more people have seen silver dimes than eagles. Recognizability is not an issue, especially if the wider populace suddenly decide they want silver coinage.

There are a number of reasons I stack junk.

Tax free, both for the purchase and capital gains - I'm just trading money for money, in the eyes of the IRS.

It's basically the cheapest method of stacking fractional silver. (Sub 1oz) If SHTF and you need something to trade with, whipping out a full ounce at a time will likely be very expensive, or even make you a target. Let's say one day silver shoots to $300/oz. You going to buy $300 worth of eggs at a time, or would you rather trade a dime?

Eagles are one of if not THE most commonly forged fakes. I don't feel like buying a $900 sigma machine to determine if my silver coin has a chinesium lead core. In fact, the slight wear on old coinage is itself a security feature. You don't have a million chinese slaves wearing blue jeans, marching in circles with silver quarters rattling around in their back pockets.

The old designs are kino.

Just off the top of my head. There are probably a few more reasons but I'm working on my drunk.

Junk has a bit of a premium online. I never buy it from eBay or Apmex/JMBullion/whatever. Not worth it, even with free shipping.

LCS is my go-to for quarters/dimes/Morgans. Every LCS is different, you have to build a relationship. Mine just happens to let me rummage around the cull bin for the best dollars, and he sells mercury dimes for the same price as quarters, so I scoop those up whenever I'm in town.

But he upcharges on halves, so I normally source those through r/pmsforsale. Yeah yeah, I know, le plebbit, but it's the best place I've found for buying and selling PMs while keeping it in the family, so to speak. So that's where I buy my halves and any other oddities that catch my eye. (There was a post a couple days ago where someone was selling 20 Krugerrands, individually, for spot. Still mad I didn't snatch one...)

A fine strategy lad. People overthink the shiny. For me, I don't care. Sometimes I pay over the odds for the shiny, because I want that particular coin or bar. Sometimes I pay under spot. All you need to know is that you're based for buying shiny. If you want to always buy under spot then watch the numbers and look here for deals on eBay or whatever. But yeah I don't listen to that so much, whenever I have free cash, I buy. It's true i'm basically drunk now and it's bed time, but if you have a specific question ask away, if nobody else answers for you i'll do my best in about 7 or 8 hours.

Incredibly based advice
Home owners are massive scammers, and want to divide family income so that they are unable to build up savings and build up generational wealth like in the past
All a family needs is one household and a decent plot of land for a few generations, and then if they need another house they can build on that plot of land, or buy more land, when neccessary
All this propaganda of kicking your kids out by the time they go to college (and obtain student debt) is just a way to prevent wealth from being build from low income and destroy family structure, and so many have fallen for this sham
Seriously every middle or wealthy class person I've met has at least a few relatives living with them to save money and are close with their family, meanwhile families that live separate live in ghettos and are basically living in poverty

It's a gamble more than anything. Our resident platinum holder should be able to help by telling you what sector he's hoping will explode in demand for it.

Even wallstsilver is dead now too. I get that interest rates are destroying any excitement in any speculative assets because you can get good yields in “risk free” bonds but surely it should be evident to everybody with a working pair of eyes that rates need to go back to zero at some point or this fugazi economy is done. The safest place is still precious metals.

The interest rates are going up to crash the economy, to stop everyone from hoarding more physical precious metals.
Also, /r/wss is not dead, they moved to another subreddit, the silver squeeze continues.
