im up early to finish a project ive been procrastinating on in the next 8 hours. i hate my life and secretly hate wfh although i will never give it up.

After 3 years now I can say I hate wfh. It is objectively better than some shitty long commute into a hellhole city but it doesn't change how I feel about it.

Yeah I can get with you on this. It's just another fresh hell. I've become paranoid I am not getting enough done. At least the pay is decent enough for me to justify staying. I'm right in the cusp though. I make just enough to not wanna leave but not enough to be totally comfy considering my degree is in engineering and I probably pull in 70k yearly at 28 years old.

Something may need to give here soon idk

I'm either going to keep trying to get better paying wfh jobs and attempt to get comfy enough where I can pack it in and just do an easy, part-time nothing job or I'm going to try and find similar work in a quieter part of the country. The latter seems ideal but also risky. I don't see any other way outside of some crypto luck.

Is this how it feels to have finally made it?

Damn I make more than that wfh IT. I don't live in an expensive place either. AA degree only. 10+ years experience though. I'm in the same boat. It worries me but better than an office. I will never go back to an office. They are terrible. I have it easy though. The thoughts are my insane anxiety disorder.

I'm feeling more and more some part of the Truman Show. After years grinding as a techie I finally became some sort of consultant in a team. So we are with 6 of us but I'm sure everything could be done by one fte. My managers doesn't give a fuck and isn't managing. We have some sort of theater meting weekly where we all pretend to be busy and having a lot of things going on. But desu we haven't deliver any note worthy output since 3 years. I think our true reason for existence is to be some leverage for the directors to push certain plans (team Y said it was good) or blame for any fuck ups. It's comfy but deep down I know this shit won't last forever. Also WFH mostly and acceptable pay.

I may look to jump soonish. I'm definitely overqualified here but since I have a 300k crypto portfolio it's kind of a weird situation go be in since I don't necessarily NEED to find a more stressful job. Hell I technically start at 8 and I just got back from the gym (it's 9:42 here). I get nothing but high marks. I'm using my health benefits pretty religiously to try and unfuck my personal life as well. So really my job is just funding my lifestyle while I wait for my portfolio to moon. I probably am getting a 5% raise here soon so not a total loss but I am trying to build my personal life more than my financial life this year and live a little and make sure I don't wanna kill myself when I turn 30.

I'd maybe take a higher paying role here if they offered it to me but I did turn one down since I figured I was about to get fired over the vax mandate anyways.

Man scares me to think this could happen. I'm an exception to the policy and have it approved. The other wagies are back 3 days a week. But they could always drop the hammer down at anytime. I set it up to fall back on "I moved out of the area" so if they fire me over it I can get neetbux but still concerning

I’m happy I get to save and have someone cook for me but man I get antsy being here. How much longer do I have to wait before living independently becomes affordable again?

no, I graduated college later than my peers so I work an entry level position making ~47k annual salary, putting 15% into 401k and with ~$250 in monthly expenses. There are certifications down the road but those require a few more years experience minimum. I am going to ask a for a raise this year though, as I’ve been working here for two years now and make the same as when I started.

I know that feel bros. I'm cruising on about 5 hours of work a week. Pay is ok $120k, but way below market for my industry and experience (software sales/5yrs). Salesforce hit me up but I got FUD from the recent layoffs in that company and the wider industry. Thing is that job would give me a 60% raise and a shot at sales for FAAG in the future, but I sure as shit wouldn't be WFH 5 hours a week anymore, it would be a 2-3 day flex. What do bros?
