You stopped paying so its no longer your car, agreement should be somewhere in that paperwork you signed. Anyways I'll be taking the car now and any threats of violence will be seen as assault

contact your apartment and nicely explain what happened. if they don't pay for you to get it out of impound, do record the call/keep the email of them saying this, do go get your car, and go talk to a lawyer

That happened to my friend once and I helped him break into the place and steal his car back because he didn't have enough money to get it out and the guy was a dick about it and basically said "tough shit lol better get more money"

Funny thing about it being Mafia shit too, tow place called the cops the next day and there's actually nothing the cops can do because you didn't steal anything. I don't know if that's just my state or whatever but yeah turns out if you are capable of getting the car back out of the lot, it's a wash, they can't demand you pay him, and they can't steal your car and give it to the tow yard. It really is a racket
