Rumors are circulating on russian telegram channels about the speech scheduled for tomorrow by president Putin, unknown leakers from the kremlin have confirmed these points:

- Russia will officially send an application for the annexation of Crimea and Donbass in the Russian Federation to the UN, if refused Russia will declare war on Ukraine with the objective of dissolving its government and its military at all costs, with the full employment of all its arsenal and the targeting of decision making centres

- An immediate warning will be sent to every Ukrainian, urging all civilians to escape the country and all military personnel to defect or surrender, they will have a week (some say a month) to do so after which everyone remaining will be treated as a combatant

- Strikes and bombardments will be announced a day in advance to allow evacuation of remaining civilians, they're trying to do this the "moral way", but the main objective remains the complete obliteration of Ukraine by all means, except nuclear

It's not about predicting the unpredictable, but rather reacting to the events as they unfold.
Our biggest edge as small individual investors is that we can surf the daily liquidity to enter and exit positions on the fly before the big boys can push their offers.
And if some fund decides to dump full out, we can profit off the collapse that inevitably results from a huge block of shares sold into the void, both by frontrunning via shorts on the way down and longing shares on the ride back up as balance returns.

Partly because of one insane Polack's raging hardon for the US to fight his ethnic grudges, but also it was pushed by a bunch of Russian Jew diaspora in the US who are still buttmad about Kievan Rus absorbing Khazaria, and later Stalin cucking them out of their Bolshevik empire and Russians generally being meanies to their ancestors.

The polack in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grand_Chessboard

TLDR we wanted to drag Russia into another Afghanistan and re-run the same playbook (long costly war plus choking off export revenues) that broke the Soviets to try to finish the job and turn the remnants into puppet states. Ukraine was to be the new quagmire. For numerous reasons I don't want to effortpost about there is no chance in hell this will work, and actually it will backfire horribly.

Is this an inefficiency in the market, is the market being greedy, are they pricing in additional risk? Liquidity?

If you're maxing out 401k and IRA contributions, switching to a Roth for both generally gets you "more" tax-advantaged space since you leave fewer dollars in the normal, taxable bucket.

Switching to traditional can make sense if you think future tax rates will be lower (lol) or your income in retirement will be lower.

Rothschild taking their bank private is fuck all important. It literally just means they decided there wasn't enough gain playing retail capacity in France when their Returns will get them better % without having to share. That could, in theory, mean France is in trouble, or it could mean France is about to boom, and they saw no reason to share.
The decision is neither here nor there on their longterm, nor on their international funding choices.
If they were paying a divy, it's a velocity change for French economics. That change, however, having come from repurchase, is frontloading those expected divies, so no real change in the long run, the market will buffer that shit.

Roth probably wins out long term unless you're past the 24% bracket, or you have state income tax as a factor and think you might someday live somewhere with no state income tax.
Also if you're capping it out, then roth wins guaranteed since you can put the same amount in, except it's already been taxed. Effectively you're stashing more.

You guys think the stock market should have kept downward crab crashing after jimmy carter regardless of the internet economy? Ignoring the gold preachers/fiat lecturers I really cannot think of any legitimate productivity innovation since the microprocessor in the 1970s. That and culturally there has been no "great" men since to humbly seek new frontiers. Boomers like michael saylor who are supposed "geniuses" of the tech boom just come off as smarter manchildren at best with feminine egoism traits, and I really do not believe in any kind of value to AI as researchers in the field are biased towards IQ inflated atheists that would be considered slightly towards the right bell curve IQ 150 years ago, not profound thinkers. META blowing their money on dead VR and coming up with subscription service justifies my thinking here in that endless money cant solve problems. Schiff is probably right about gold miners theres always something in hard metals.

Think of it as remaining market neutral. You still generate revenue from your other investments, and it's not like the business is hemorrhaging money, it just won't ever become net profitable (due to loans, expenses etc), but it also doesn't increase your total tax liability. Depending on your PPE you can claim them as depreciation of assets which offsets the gains your business makes. Over time, the land will also appreciate in value.
It's complicated and unintuitive process that I haven't looked into because my tax code isn't fucked like the US's, and also I don't own any businesses. But this sort of shit does exist for high net worth individuals

/smg/ is one of the few tolerable threads on the entire board, and it's a weekend. Really, any kind of comfy investing topic fits in here imo.
There's a proper way to take on leverage and debt without losing your ass. The improper way is doing the Air BNB meme that a lot of boomers did over the last few years and took out chains of loans on their house to buy a rental property to buy a rental property, and then oh look, they can't fill them with tenants 100% of the time and start defaulting.

The point is, you want to be diversified in all areas; you want different asset classes, even within each asset class should have multiple exposures, and several different income streams.

not on hand sorry, but it said in the best year it was around a 4% out performance, and when you calculate churning costs and timing lag then you are probably going to lose money overall. https://acfr.aut.ac.nz/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/294287/The-Myth-of-Sector-Rotation-non-blind.pdf

that being said there are obvious sector overperforms like in 2022 tech was extremely high. you could make money shorting nasdaq at 3x and longing nyse/s&p500 at 3x just because of how many zombie companies there were in a future high rate environment

I like to think about the broad macro factors, stuff like interest rates (and foreign rates), GDP, bond yields etc etc and see where the markets might be heading. So like, if I know equities are likely to suffer a downturn, and I know that historically money moves to forex, bonds, and PMs, I can try to move to those asset classes before the event. That sort of stuff.
