Should people with their emergency fund in a small currency (not shithole countries) convert parts of it to a global bond fund instead?

When the dollar milkshake happens, those smaller currencies are going get rekt

my emergency fund is unironically bitcoin
i keep some cash incase my monthly spending spikes higher than my income

all fiat < chf < gold < bitcoin
simple as.

swiss francs, they're stable towards gold, literally the only fiat that isn't going the toiletpaper route
gold is still better, but you can't have gold in a checking account
I actually check the bitcoin price in chf, because the dollars is simply a bad unit of account atm

Does that mean its "smart" to hold some emergency fund in my Norwegian Krone, since Norway has a bunch of oil and gas?

definitely, Norway besides great economy and one of the best places to live in it has a lot to offer for Europe in terms of commodities.

I myself just bought the apartment in Norway and I'm planning to buy a plot soon

How did a thread about a RL issue related to everybody who doesn’t live from paycheck to paycheck manage to stay up for over 2 hours and get a reply count closer to double digits than to zero on this particular board about business & finance?

I bought an apartment in norway 1.5 years ago as well, but with the NOK getting crushed by every other currency in the past ~10 years i am getting a bit worried that i'm holding a hot potato.

the commodities argument makes sense but its very limited to oil, gas, and salmon. If any of those go commodities go belly up I'm fucked.

lets hope for WW3 and an oil boom i guess

hold it in NOK friend, don't sell

also recently I bought some shares in Aker BP and Equinor

I believe this year oil and gas will do really well

>emergency fund
Usually an emergency fund is something you need in case of emergencies, meaning you want to have it in something liquid like cash that you can deploy immediately. What's the point of converting it into something less liquid you can't quickly access in an emergency? It's just a regular investment at that point.
