I am a left wing stacker. The progression to fiat from sound money is a natural process of capitalism and evidence of the falling rate of profit at work. Finance capitalists need to continually bleed workers through inflation in order to sustain their business model and keep labor subservient.

You are so right. Government projects almost always fail and the bigger the project, the higher the failure rate. The only things governments can accomplish with some reliability are breaking things and killing people, and they do that with incredible inefficiency. To the extent governments have had success in their enterprises, it is because they are persistent in their opportunistic knavery and rely on most people just going about their business peacefully most of the time.

Summoning Frogbro!

I can't find the nice bronze coin I have floating around somewhere but these are my very oldest "French" silver coins. They're from the ancient Greco-Gallic trading port city of Massalia, now Marseille, which is the oldest city in the country. The bigger silbers and bronzes are usually inscribed "ΜΑΣΣΑ" and small obols "M/A" in 2 of the 4 quadrants of a wheel, so identification is pretty easy. Ionian Greeks set up the colony 2,600 years ago as a trading post and mixed with the native Celto-Ligurian protofrog population, and back then I think lions still lived in southern France so including one on their coins makes sense. Massalian coins are somewhat scarce but generally not super expensive so if you want to be a French numischad and BTFO plebs and their young babbycoins you need to get a few for the collection, I think they're historically quite interesting.

Bars are slightly cheaper but coins seem to hold a higher premium via how they look and they’re familiarity among buyers and sellers.

However, assayed bars like the ones you mentioned have security features like the protective case and it’s numbering.

At the end of the day just stack what you like, fren. This investment is for the long haul and you really can’t screw up.

And regarding what sizes to buy; 1/10 aren’t terrible about premium and carry the premium with it if you were ever selling (besides a LCS which often buys just at spot price). Obviously, buy the most you can afford as you’ll save on premiums.

There are many online vendors that are reputable, and I've had no problem in a dozen years of buying from online vendors.
JM and assayed bars are not the least expensive way to go though. I'd recommend Latin Monetary Units (francs, ducats, coronas...) for small amounts. THey usually have low markups. A good burger vendor to start with would be silvergoldbull.

Leftists like you need to start accepting the reality that capitalism isn't corporatism for the simple fact capitalism isn't collectivist. CBDC is a collectivist instrument, it requires a central body much like a central bank managing fiat. People who live outside this corporatist system are still classed as capitalists. If you don't accept this then explain who in the hell are these people.

You're not making any sense, CBDC is in some way collectivist, but so is private insurance. Are Blue Cross Blue Shield and Geico not capitalist? Corporatism is just a meaningless buzzword and the ideal capitalism you envision that is somehow not dominated by soulless megacorporations and liberal oligarchs hasn't existed since the industrial revolution.

>Corporatism is just a meaningless buzzword and the ideal capitalism you envision that is somehow not dominated by soulless megacorporations and liberal oligarchs hasn't existed since the industrial revolution.

The thing is that small private businesses and freedom co-exist with them. You don't get that with communism because deep down it's monopolistic corporatism on the state level presented as for your own good, collective rights over individual rights, seizing the means of production means seizing people which is effectively slavery to the dictatorship of the proletariat. Commies never think things through, they're just full of envy and want to tear everything down. Communism has been tried and it always ends in disaster and state bloodshed. Stop pretending that the human condition can be tamed.

>I feel like we are almost arguing in favor of the same thing but using different semantics to try to justify it.
We both agree that monopolistic corporations are the bane to the health of human societies with how they always get corrupted, but what you propose afterwards (which is always going to be collectivist because that's what being to the left is) will just end up the same way only more oppressive. It absolutely fucking amazes me that leftists are never honest with themselves about the reality of their ideology, they think this time it will be different. The CCP has publicly made it clear at their party's anniversary that they seek to be the ruling empire of the world in the next few decades. Do you think your leftist utopia is going to be delivered that way, or be the oppressive hellhole the USSR was.

Personally I don't even know how you can call yourself a leftist when you're stacking because it is private property. Your stuff will be taken off you for the good of the collective and you will be forced to use communist CBDC.

Perhaps they're too afraid to show an actual photo?

Scrapfren, my plate showed up in the mailbox today! Went to check on dem hallmarks, and everything is checking out, as i expected it's indeed from 1789, so the last year for those types of marks. Made this on paint.
Sadly the silversmith mark is half gone and it's a real pain to find out who made it.

Otherwise the plate isn't as large as i thought it would be. I'd say it's about the size of a modern plate, maybe 5-10% larger than the ones i use at home (but probably 50% smaller than US standards? jk). But it's real THICC, so no wonder it's so heavy (a little over 25oz).
The bowl have knives' micro scratches from normal use, but nothing too dramatic (none you can feel passing your finger through).

I'll post more pics later on, but i need to clean it first, it came up greasy and with a faint smell of hobo's piss... No Bueno.

ngl fren, digging up hallmarks in old books isn't the most exciting shit ever. But i'm a full history sperg, so once i figure out the origin, it serve as an excuse to read on what happened during that year or in that place. So many crazy stuff took place each year since recorded history. Too bad our modern (((history))) only want to remember key masonic macro-events and totally memoryholed the heroes of our past, because the story of great men are the most fantastic things ever. Some are defying the imagination, you literally can't invent this shit.
I can guarantee you kids would never sleep in class if we told them history via individuals' histories and then fit in the macro events. This would help contextualize instead of repeating by hearth random dates like a robot with zero comprehension nor immersion of the period.
But i guess no time for that when 75% of history class from 1st grade to unvi must be dedicated to the Ultimate Crime of Eternal Darkness targeting the Chosen Ones.

I've a sweet spot for adventurers/corsaires/knights, they always have the most amazing stories. Our lives are so dull and boring (but that's not necessarly a bad thing, we aren't all cut of this kind of life, at least i don't think i am) compared what happened to those heroes that when i tell their tale, i always get called a liar until my listeners inevitably check out on wiki and let escape an

Kek, yeaah you frogbros porobably can't compete with our burgerlard fat-platters but if it's at least as big as what you're used to then it's an excellent old plate to have. Thanks for the image explaining the marks, I have a little experience with post-revolutionary french hallmarks but not your good old stuff. I know that the old English and european plates were indeed very thicc and heavy, made to withstand actual usage without getting dented every time you look at it. The fine knife marks sound normal, what I recommend you do is look for a solid-sterling "fish knife", they were 1-piece construction with a solid silver blade, so it would be much softer than standard steel blades and be safe to use with the plate. Dunno if you saw but I posted some ancient coins from Marsaille for you to see here: >53751011

These 2 books of mine came to mind immediately, if you don't mind reading in English, a 1967 reprint of the 1897 "History of the Liverpool Privateers with an account of the Liverpool Slave Trade" which is a true treasure of history and amazing stories, including about Euros who were captured and enslaved by Muslims. The other book is "The Malefactors' Register or Bloody Calendar" "containing genuine and circumstantial narratives of the lives, trials, & dying speeches of some of the most notorious criminals who have suffered death or other punishments, in Great Britain, Ireland, and America" which was widely printed in the 18th and early 19th century so original old editions can be bought inexpensively, just search for "Malefactors' Register". Both books are fascinating and delightful for chads with an appreciation for history.

The corporate business form is not a creature of the free market. The corporate business form is an artificial person created by government statute. It was a mistake. But it was not a mistake of capitalism. It was a mistake of government intervention into free markets. So it is perfectly sound reasoning to draw a distinction between capitalism, which is a natural development of private property and individual freedom, and corporatism, which is the result of government coercion.

I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go?

Adolf is here
Everywhere, oh
Adolf is here
If you care, oh
If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Adolf all the time

I feel you, Adolf
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Adolf
Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you, Adolf?
Fill your heart with love

The greatest problem seems to be that the masses don’t even know what they actually want anymore. It is such a complex topic to discuss politics and society but the best summary of the insanity that the world is facing today is just how fractured people are. There’s no unified goal that a nation is striving towards. No great achievement to focus on. What has America accomplished over the last 50 years? Mass immigration, wage stagnation, the disintegration of the nuclear family and multigenerational homes…it goes on and on. God forbid we actually discuss this rather than the right of children to hop on HRT, lop off their cock or tits, and demand they have access to their identifying gender’s bathroom. THAT is what matters in the American sphere of sociopolitical economics. THAT is why BRICS is going to clap our cheeks in the next decades. Because they don’t give a fuck about Western degenerate Weimar lunacy. Everything is literally and figuratively gay as fuck.

Buy land, grow food, save your wealth by investing in tangible hard assets. Guns, gold, ground, and grub.

And you’ve been blessed with quads for your sick entry stack, fren! What’d you get? I bought way over spot when I first jumped into PMs so I hope you were much smarter than me. Bulk coin orders lower price by so much and I am a fool for taking so long to realize that.

This is how people are taken advantage of. They don't bother to fight for honest weights and measures, they don't fight against the mask or the injection. Slaves reap what the sew, which is ironic because they will own nothing.

Real talk Anons. My stacks GSR is a little too silver heavy so I’m boosting my gold.

Question: I can get pic related for ~7% premium; if I want a state minted coin it’s closer to double that. Is it better to stick with smaller premiums to stack weight, even if it’s an unusual format?

I figure when times comes to sell I’ll likely get SPOT anyway. So may as well keep premiums down in the front end. Thoughts?

Gold frens are weird; some are extreme purists who only accept recognizable designs and/or plastic sealed assayed bars while some scavenge eBay for mislabeled jewelry.

I say focus on correcting your ratio at least to 1:100 with more popular options (coins and bars) before going wild with more niche and weird options.

And of course, fractionals carry a high premium vs. full ounces BUT they often carry that premium if you ever sold online rather than to a dealer or LCS.

Again, stack what you love and you’ll never be unhappy. Gold is gold, no matter if it is a 1/4 oz nut or 1 oz shrek coin.

In Canada, anything less than 98% pure gets taxed an additional 13% in top of numis premiums. Otherwise I’d stack sovereigns to the ceiling.

You can get these for $50-60 online. Cool to own one as they are a perfect example of a coin you may like to stack. At $50, you can make a nice profit in 5-10 years from someone that really wants one.
