You could also start stacking some physical gold and silver (1kg+ to not get raped in premiums) for safe gains. I don't like all the cyclical commodities personally because we are entering a serious downturn. Also silver stocks are super expensive, could pay off but very risky, silver has to really do well to win in those. Gold stocks are more reasonably priced imo, although it is a stock pickers market and that's not easy.

and just because the world needs commodities doesn't mean you're going to get rich buying them. The price is wholesale, it's super low and isn't allowed to go up or down very much. Volatility is flatten by the sheer bulk of the market and the enormous amount of paper derivatives that are literally designed to prevent the price from going too high or low. A lot of you are betting on that whole system collapsing, which it might. But if it does, your mining companies are going right down with it.

Mining stocks are a leveraged bet on the underlying commodities, but they also add many other types of risks independent of the commodity prices themselves.

Rick Rule has made this point many many times: the average joe that wants exposure is best served by investing in the biggest names because they have the most stability against other market forces outside of the commodity prices themselves, or even just buy GDX or something. Investing in Barrick or Wheaton is not so exciting, but they're unlikely to dump 90% and that's what matters.

For the people on this board investing in non-producing explorers and juniors is just gambling. No one hear has the actual knowledge, experience, and direct connections to the companies that would be necessary to make sensible calculated bets on those, and those companies are all thinly traded enough to be prone to pump and dump scams.

The problem is that younger generations are looking at their current financial situation and the prospect of "slow and steady gains" seems like it will never amount to anything, so instead of investing for small reliable gains people YOLO gamble on moon shots.
