It’s all smoke and mirrors. Reaching such an obscene national debt is the exact goal of our long nosed financiers. Clown world was guaranteed the moment our money became the product of an unlimited printing machine vs. any actual backing by gold or silver.

Foreign loss of faith in USD is going to put a majority of the US into the pods.

Holy Jesus Frogbro it's even nicer than I imagined, congratulations on the score! It truly is in very excellent condition, big serving spoons like that often got used heavily sometimes to the point that the bowl would get worn down and deformed by getting mushed inward, so yours is a superior specimen not only because of grade but also because it doesn't seem to have been monogrammed which generally decreases value and collector appeal. High condition pre-revolutionary silver like that is magnificent, spoonplebs permanently mogged. Can I ask what it weighs? With that and the big plate you just got you're breaking into the next level, pieces like those make typical family heirlooms look like plastic trinkets.

diamonds aren't a long term hold since CVD diamonds are collapsing in price daily. Lab diamond prices are coming down 10-15% a year and in my opinion in 10 years diamonds will be worth nothing. The closest thing for Americans is old coin silver, and the vast majority of old coin silverware is monogrammed. Big spoons or ladles are quite rare to begin with and those without monograms are very hard to find. The market is variable but they can go for upwards of 3-5x spot, more for pieces from desirable silversmiths. I don't know what a 17th century non-monogrammed French "stuffing spoon" would sell for but I'm certain that it's a superior investment item, keep hunting for stuff of that quality and you'll never go wrong.

Yes indeed, monogram removal used to be pretty common back in the day but leaves a shallow divot and tends to be easily detected, pieces with removed monograms might be worth a little more but are still considered "damaged".

Isn't that because people are more interested in stuff that they can eat or use to keep cool/warm? After all, not everyone needs to high-tail it to some other country with PMs to (temporarily) relocate.
Then after selling off PMs in many cases and things stabilize, people will then want to buy it back for various reasons and then the price might rise up.
This isn't too different from how even in an EMP event people wouldn't immediately turn to PMs for trade. You have to survive until the stage where PMs come into play.
Makes sense, no?

Name of the game is enjoying the stable crabbing of the holy sisters gold and silver while every other commodity continues to artificially pump in this world of infinite money printing and mass debt accumulation.

When shit hits the fan precious metals, ammo, and guns will take off. Until than you aren’t going to see any 1000x moon missions from memecoins or stonks.

Any civilization that has known the use of money almost immediately finds a way to start using money again after a collapse because barter is so hopelessly inefficient. >Women prefer natural diamonds.
Women couldn't tell the difference between cheap glassware and diamonds. So no, they don't prefer natural diamonds, they just prefer to have the illusion they are worth their high maintenance. Just make a fake documentation on your lab grown diamond saying it's worth 15 gazillions and she'll be the happiest woman on earth, as long as she can flex on her friends.
Personally i'd prefer a woman not liking diamonds at all because she understand it was a scam controlled by the jewish mob from it's inception.

It won't let me order silver bars and gold coins in the same transaction for some reason, and splitting the order means I get taxed on each item whereas the full order passes CA's stupid $1500 minimum. The story of my life at garage sales. Boomers larping as sophisticated aristocrats with their chink made electroplated shit. In truth, even though their houses are chokeful of trinkets, most of them own nothing of real value. It's just full of trash for tourists the wife bring back from vacations, mites' infested clothes and cringe chink baubles sold in ""collector"" magazines who were shilled on TV during the 80/90s.

I recently helped a friend to empty his grandparents' house after his gramp died, even though he was a millionaire on paper (or digitally should i say), if you don't count the furnitures and the gardening tools, you would probably get 200 bux out of all the items inside the house if you auctioned them on ebay. Nothing precious, nothing ancient, nothing made out of noble materials. Even the grandma jewels were junk.

But a lot of diginumbers held in the bank..
Those ppl ignore how close they are to complete financial ruin. 95+% of normans don't possess anything of value beside their car and their home. With the banksters setting up the stage for their inevitable collapse, and the ensuing bail-ins, i can't imagine the human tragedy it will be. People will suddently remember why their ancestors used to have gold coins and silver forks at home instead of blindly trusting Mr Bankerberg with all their savings.

The interesting stuff today in my opinion is rapper pendants and chains. Nigs buy them when they get a check, realize in a years time that no more money is coming, and then sell their jewelry for scrap.

I've had similar types offer me 200+ gram pieces for 50 percent of spot a year after purchasing them. That's the future of scrapping.

Hundreds of pieces and I didn't find anything sterling, did get some nice cheap pewter there though. Most goodwills screen out the sterling to sell online which is what I figure that store was doing. If you have any ARC thrift stores they can be a good source of cheapies if you beat the retired boomers who visit every day, often 2x a day looking for the freshly priced good stuff to be wheeled out in carts from the back. Estate sales and eBay are the best sources for me.

Not to sound like an entitled zoomer but the generation of boomers dying with nothing to their name after millennia of families actively preserving wealth in the form of land, a generational home, or even just a stack of precious metals has radicalized me to ensuring I can provide those next in line with some kind of stability throughout their life.

And I agree. I think the dichotomy between selfish and selfless people is going to be incredibly interesting come the next decade or so. A lot of people have either grown up with incredibly selfish parents or had to deal with incredibly selfish customers all day at the wagie job they're forced to work in. There's a good chance we'll have a subset of highly altruistic and loving parents out of resentment for this behavior.
But at the same time, people that would have been somewhat selfish are only going to get worse. Social media engagement only seems to keep going up. And there's frighteningly large amount of kids being raised on tablets and video games instead of going outside and playing, they're going to be absolute monsters as an adult especially since they're going to constantly view selfish narcissists and feed into that behavior. I hope there's going to be good authors writing about the current social conditions, I hardly ever see books being written on contemporary affairs (post 2007 Iphone boom) even though we're in utterly fascinating times.

Hah nothing that cool, I like hiking around "wild-crafting" wild medicinal and also "magical" (wiccan/witchcraft) herbs and collecting seeds to sell, and over time I have learned about certain plants for which there is an enormous global demand for seeds and dried herb but minimal or 0 professional suppliers. I also want to distill rare essential oils that are very valuable for perfume but which simply aren't being produced anywhere nowadays. I don't want to reveal here the species I intend to grow but one that would be lucrative in southern France or Spain would be Mandrake (Mandragora officinarum), it takes several years for the roots to mature but they can sell for $100+ per root and the seeds sell for lots too so if you had a little plantation of them in the right climate you could generate some solid income. I like working barefoot in the soil getting my hands dirty out in the sun, so tending fields of lucrative herbs and a big homestead garden for family use would suit me very well.

Interesting you talk about mandrake and witchcraft in the same post.
Do you know why witches are commonly depicted as flying on their brush to join a sabbat in the middle of the night?
It comes from the french medieval folkore, but few know the roots of it : witches used to coat their wand/brush with mandragora's roots, then insert it in their vagoo. Since the vaginal mucous membranes are especially efficient at assimilating alcaloids, it was pushing the witches in an hypnotic and hallucinogenic state where they would decorporate and mystically join others witches with their astral body floating above the ground. Thus why they are "riding the brush in the air" to join the witch coven to invoke demons and spirits (astrally).

Anyway, thanks for the tips fren, could be very interesting as a side hobby (who also can be lucrative, the best kind of hobbies). What i'm wondering is, how do you usually sell said plaints and essential oils? Is there an online market or is it through local contacts you already have?

Every new shitcoin takes a bit of the market share that would have been bitcoin's, and all bitcoin does is serve as a volatile pressure-venting proxy for fiat currency, similar to how fiat currency is a volatile proxy for the precious metals from which currency originally derived its value from. Precious or monetary metals are unique elemental building blocks of the universe for which no functional substitutes exist, unlike BTC and so many crypto clonecoins, so your base metal poop alloy would have no influence on unrelated precious elements.

I've been contacted by a pharmaceutical company asking to buy bigass bulk quantities so I know it's worth taking seriously. I was actually explaining to my woman earlier today about how witches would wrap their beef curtains around their favorite broomstick to absorb the alkaloids, imagine the smell kek. I agree with this but Gold and Silver are only stores of value where as BTC is a growth investment, you can argue if its a good one or not but if you have a smaller net worth I don't see the point of PMs. Also at present there are few coins that are comparable to BTC or ETH as you said they can be replaced but doing so is not as easy as minting a new shitcoin that is a large exaggeration.

>There's a good chance we'll have a subset of highly altruistic and loving parents out of resentment for this behavior.

I think so anon, as pro social behaviour basically selects for itself. Look to immigrant families such as Indians and Chinese, they work together as a team and actually are able to buy houses together. Contrast it to boomers and their children, just suggesting immediately get you the response ‘but muh we will fight for inheritance’ yeah no shit moron that happens if you are an insufferable shot that raised an even more shitty generation, that don’t have kids.

So my point is, selfish, narcissist idiots will self select to extinction. You are basically already seeing this.

Most of what you're seeing ITT is probably larping; I've gone to innumerable thrift stores and flea markets and never seen Sterling anywhere below spot.
There are enough deceptively made Silverplate spoons and and knives and shit out there (some even labeled with the word Sterling) that a lot of the 'deals' on Ebay can be untrustworthy at best.

So your parents died very young. Hardly the typical case. Do the math. Boomers typically had children in their late twenties. Let's just say 30 for convenience. Most boomers live well into their 60s and 70s. Let's say 70 for convenience. That means most children of boomers inherit the family fortune when they are 40, not 18, and at that age they long ago figured out how to make it in the world on their own. It is actually the grandchildren of boomers who are most likely to benefit from their fortune.

Stop showing you're a fool.

Dubs checked. Fair enough.
As with any message, it has to be your post and within their time window. I don 't know what the upper time limit is - how long you have before it's permanent.
And it may be different on other boards. ??
