I'm seething bros.. A fucking boomer sniped a stealth auction i was laser focused on at the very last second.. AGAIN.
And i believe it was worth way more than what it was sold for, but since the seller didn't know what he was selling.. 0 bids for 7 days. Shitty description, shitty title, shitty timing. All the odds were in my favor.
I bid in the last hour, alone.
Upbid myself during the last minute for more security.
And then, 1sec before closing... the nightmare in all it's horror : a wild boomie appear and get my item for .50c above my price limit.

I want to commit a boomicide.

Is that you Frogbro? Sorry to hear about the loss, maybe I can help you understand some things that I've learned and observed in the 20+ years I've been buying and selling on eBay, there is much more psychology involved than you might think, and a few tools you can use to be more strategic.

Everyone hates bid-sniping but it's an eternal unavoidable aspect of online auctions, so you need to hold your nose and do it too. On eBay I use the automatic bid-sniping service of www.gixen.com, if you use it for free you can have it bid with 6 seconds remaining and win up to 4 items using the service per month. If you pay the small subscription for the service you can have unlimited snipes set to be placed down to the very last second, I do 3 seconds because it doesn't leave any time for a person to increase a bid manually and if someone was waiting until the last 1 second to snipe the same price as me, my bid will have been earlier and I will win it.

To get a sense for how much competition there is with the same item in their watchlist, search the title of the auction in http://www.watchcount.com to see how many watchers there are, this is more useful than one might think. Sellers can see how many watchers there are on their listings but unless there are 10+ watchers a potential buyer won't see it in the auction page.

I don't understand bid sniping. Why doesn't egay extend auction time by a minute or something if a bid is place in the last minute?

On BringATrailer, auction website used for high end car sales, if anyone bids during the last 5 minutes, the time remaining is reset to 5 minutes again. This prevents sniping, and let's competing bidders reconsider their max.

The 2 huge reasons I don't understand, is the jews at egay miss out on more profits from their fees being higher (due to higher finishing price), and it's not representative of a real life auction, where sniping can't happen. Going once? TWICE?....sold

(cont)
For an example of the usefulness of the watchcount info, if a poorly listed auction you're interested in has been up for a few days and only shows 1 to 3 watchers and has no bids, you can remove it from your watchlist (the seller will see the number of watchers) then send a message to the seller casually offering to buy-it-now for a price below what it would sell for if bidding against another scrapper but above the opening bid, and say that if they're not interested in editing the listing to have a BIN option you'll bid near the end of the auction. If the seller doesn't know the value of the item and sees that it has 0, 1 or 2 watchers (because you removed it from your watchlist) he may think it might only sell for the opening bid and may be very happy to sell at the price you offer. I've gotten several exceptional deals by using this savvy Jewish trick.

Watchcount info can also be useful for determining how high you want your final bid to be and whether you want to risk low-balling your high bid to try to get a superior deal, and helps you to manage expectations so you don't get depressed if you lose.

For dealing with competing bidders and watchers on items you are interested in, you need to keep in mind the "feeding-frenzy" psychology triggered by placing your bids early. If you place a bid early enough for competitors to see, competitors who themselves were thinking it might sell cheap and who otherwise would greedily low-ball their high bid, they will know that there is competition and will be prompted to bid higher and more competitively. If you see a promising poorly listed "sleeper" auction, placing a bid early tells other competitors scrolling through search results that someone else recognized something desirable in the auction, and they will study the item more closely to find what you discovered. A person staring at the ceiling in a crowded store will cause others to stop and look up too, so avoid drawing attention early.

Seethe some more. The Walking Liberty design is considered one of the most iconic and beautiful. Only to be outdone by Gauden whose double eagle is widely considered to be the most beautiful coin ever minted. Sorry you’re so butthurt about the premiums. You missed out when they were cheap.

>The psychology/sociology is basically second-nature to autists with a robust "theory of mind" and gives us the ability to succeed where ignorant normiewits fail
Definitely. That's literally me too kek. I already used some of the tactics you mentioned. Like unfollow the item the last 24h, only bidding at the last second (if i can), using round numbers +1.50 (like $501.50), mini-bidding many times (+1€) on another silver item who's auction is ending up around the same time to push the algos to give said item more visibility while i target the stealth one...
Full blown autismo.

But if the item have zero bids (like this one i was interested with did) i often bid at the minimum price availible on the last 48h, because many times already it happened to me the seller withdrew the item from sale, fearing it would sell for below their expectation/end up with 0 bids. At least once a bid is proposed, the item is "locked up" and the seller is forced to let it be auctioned til the end.

As for the queen, I like how the 2023 maple has those extra little dates and 'pearls' related to her time as queen and different portraits on the coins throughout the years.
Just that extra little detail makes it feel like more of a piece of history and also makes better use of the space. I like it a lot more than the 2022 and other versions for that reason and it surprises me.
I guess eventually 2023 or maybe 2024 Maples will have the new king on them.

>push the algos

This is an important consideration, I'm not sure exactly how the algos work but they track what people look at and bid on to populate "People who viewed this item also viewed" banner advertisements with related auctions. This bothers me for obvious reasons and I'm sure has alerted my competition to sleepers I had found, but maybe it can be avoided if you stay logged out with cookies disabled while searching for cheapies?

>many times already it happened to me the seller withdrew the item from sale, fearing it would sell for below their expectation/end up with 0 bids. At least once a bid is proposed, the item is "locked up" and the seller is forced to let it be auctioned til the end.
.
Hah yeah bro this is an aspect worth addressing too, I was thinking about discussing it but the 2000 character limit is a nigger. In these situations it's either because the seller fears it will sell too cheap as you observed or because they accepted an offer to sell directly. I sometimes like to look at the active auctions and sales history of the sellers of promising auctions, if they are a noob then risk of ending early is higher but chances of arranging a direct sale at a cheap price are better too, in those situations it is often worth sending them a message expressing interest and suggesting a Buy it Now arrangement or that you'll bid later if not, if they don't agree then at least they are reassured that someone is watching and will bid, and you having expressed direct personal interest will make them feel more guilty about the idea of ending and withdrawing the auction. We can't win them all but with the power of autism we can do pretty darn well, good luck fren.

Investing in tools to increase your productivity is the essence of capitalism. The only reasons not to do it are if you think government (or other thieves) will confiscate so much of your profit as to make it not worthwhile or if you think the market for whatever you are going to produce is going to collapse. Otherwise, carry on and best of luck!

"What basis? Indeed, we cannot see that, in this respect, there can be any other criterion, any other standard, than gold. Oh, yes! Gold, which never changes its nature, which can be shaped into bars, ingots or coins, which has no nationality and which is eternally and universally-accepted as the unalterable fiduciary value par excellence. Moreover, despite everything that could be imagined, said, written, done, as huge events happened, it is a fact that there is still today no currency that can compare, either by a direct or an indirect relationship, real or imagined, with gold." - Charles De Gaulle, enemy of Adolf "Fiat" Hitler

Just went through the site and idk, seems like more steps than just pocketing cash until you reach whatever goal you’re personally saving towards. I GUESS there is an opportunity to try and trade your position to a potentially larger amount but you’re fighting Jews with silver and the bugmen for gold.

It DOES look like it’d scratch the degenerate crypto gambling itch but I got into PMs partly to remove the life shortening stress of constant market surveillance.

They literally aren't coins though - they're rounds. They have no face value, they aren't legal tender, and they're made by niggers and purchasing them funds niggers genociding whites.

Krugerrands are coins though, they're legal tender in South Africa. Their face value is one troy ounce of gold. It's the exact same as Mexican Lebertads. As for supporting niggers, either just buy older ones, or look at it as some do: you're trading your worthless fiat for their actual money. They lose in the end.

not scrap exactly but got pic related on ebay and it will be here in a few days. 2CT (marked) 10k diamond tennis bracelet. Mosesthejeweller on ebay is into tennis chains and made me one to add one to the stack.

One of the scrap gold guys i buy stuff from had a Hublot king fusion 18k for 8000CAD a few weeks ago. All 18k and either current or from the last few years. Stupidly hesitated and it was gone the same day. The price makes me think it was probably stolen but who knows.

I'm trying to get my 18k watch stack up in 2023. I want a hublot, omega constellation (within last 10 years), and factory diamond 18338 rolex.

I fell for the diamond meme when I was young. I've had 2 serious long term girlfriends which I've bought jewelry. Diamond tennis bracelets both times. Personally I think that's the best piece of jewelry for a woman that's not a ring. Nice enough to show a commitment without actually committing.
If I knew what I know now, I would have focused more on the metal than the meme stones. Cubic zirconium is just as nice to the untrained eye. 18k rhodium plated gold with man made stones > sterling with even the best stones

bid sniping is gay but you can circumvent it by making high initial bids. I put a place holder bid in and then a second real bids. Sniping only works when the other biddes put lot initial bids in. Just bid realistically or start sniping yourself.

Diamonds on tennis bracelets are not eally woth much but big diamonds (even CVD) can definately be worth money. Especially colored diamonds.

A woman came by to sell me scap recently and she had a giant 3+ carat diamond ring. I wanted it so bad and would have sent it straight to GIA to get certified but she wouldn't sell it...

That bracelet by the way is worth wholesale about 1000usd and i paid 375usd (500CAD). There are better deals out there especially from gold dealers that dont know about diamonds but i just wanted a tennis piece to see in person.

imo this is better than other coins like Eagle or Phil that have silly dollar amounts like $50 for a 1 ounce coin, with the Krugerrand they avoided a face value because they want it connected to the value of gold itself which changes
