National Australia Bank is a private bank, not a central bank. The Commonwealth Bank and ANZ are in cahoots with them too while trying to stay relevant with crypto adoption. The kids all tap with their phones and most places accept wepay and other foreign state owned payment platforms, in fact many places even encourage crypto payments as if they were cash payments since they can do dodgies with it (Australia recently made it illegal to pay for items over $10000 using cash). The government is cracking down hard on it, trying to restrict crypto as much as possible to retain some sort of control. There is a lot of regulation that is being passed and in the pipeworks

All these notions of Australia adopting crypto are just boomer banks trying to stay 'hip and happening' with the kids. Things like Catholic or Islamic banking, low/no fee stock trading, e-banks and so on are really cutting into their profits. They used to have childrens savings accounts and cheap/no ID loans and stuff, which have been banned, so they're having trouble getting 'em while they're young, crypto """adoption""" is pure marketing.
